JAFCO Children's Ability Center JAFCO Children's Ability Center is comprehensive center serving children ages birth through 22 with any developmental disability.

The Children’s Ability Center is a beautifully designed, warm and inviting place for your entire family. The Children’s Lodge includes an art studio, fun and fitness gym, computer wiz lab, pet therapy environment, general store, daily living skills environment, music and drama studio for the children and a second story parent café where parents can relax while their children are receiving therapy

or having fun with their friends. For overnight stays, children will enjoy their own private bedroom and bathroom for up to two weeks per year. Your child will begin an individualized program that focuses on their many strengths and abilities. Working together to develop their cognitive, verbal, fine and gross motor and social skills, we hope to also enhance their performance and independence at home, in school and in the community. Parents and family members are offered the information, training and support to better understand and manage their child’s diagnosis . We provide family support which includes counseling, support groups for the entire family, education and training, child enrichment such as social skills, life skills and homework club, respite for a few hours up to 2 weeks annually and therapy services in the near future.

Exactly one year ago, 5-year-old Madison came to JAFCO carrying an immense amount of trauma, keeping the world at a distance. But slowly, JAFCO became her family. She learned to trust, her playful spirit began to shine, and she realized she was safe. ❤️

A few months ago, a wonderful adoptive mother opened her heart to Madison. She traveled 5 to 6 hours at a time just to spend precious moments with her, embracing Madison with unconditional love, patience, and devotion.

Madison is continuing on from JAFCO to begin a beautiful new chapter with her forever family on a farm surrounded by love and animals. 🐾🏡

Thank you to everyone in our community. Every act of kindness, patience, and dedication contributed to Madison’s journey. Because of you, a little girl who once carried so much pain now has the opportunity to grow, heal, and flourish in the love she has always deserved.

We will miss you Madison, but know you always have a family at JAFCO.

We are proud to share that members of our clinical team at the JAFCO Children's Ability Center took the stage last week at the United Way Broward and Broward Behavioral Health Coalition South Florida Behavioral Health Conference! 🎤

Their presentation, "From Survival to Sustainability: Wellness Programs for Caregiver Burnout Prevention" highlighted the JAFCO wellness model, and was shared with a community of like-minded clinicians. Our team left the entire room inspired and connected to tackling the critical need of supporting caregivers who give so much of themselves every day.

Thank you to United Way Broward for allowing our incredible clinicians to champion caregiver wellness — and for bringing this vital conversation to a broader audience. 💙

We loved having the opportunity to welcome you to the JAFCO Children’s Ability Center and Illuminate, our beautiful venue with a cause where proceeds directly fund the vital programs at our center.

During their visit, council members got an inside look at our Ability@Work program, which empowers young adults (ages 18–22) diagnosed with autism. Through workforce training and essential life skills, these incredible individuals are thriving— especially at our WildFlower Boutique, where participants handcraft stunning bouquets out of recycled materials! 💐✨

Community partnerships like this make all the difference. Thank you for your support, your engagement, and for helping us shine a light on ability!

A huge thank you to all the amazing JAFCO Children’s Ability Center parents who joined us for last week’s Parents’ Night Out! It was a fun-filled evening packed with laughter, friendly competition, and plenty of smiles.

On this Memorial Day, we hold especially close the memory of Gabe, one of our own children of JAFCO, who passed away while serving in the Navy. He embodied the courage and commitment to something larger than himself that this day calls us to remember.

We join the nation in honoring all those who gave their lives in service to this country. Each of them leaves behind a community forever changed by their sacrifice.

May their memories always be for a blessing. 🕊️

Yesterday's attack at the Islamic Center of San Diego is a devastating reminder that no one should ever have to fear for their safety in a place of worship. At JAFCO, we believe deeply that every person, of every faith, deserves to gather, pray, and build community without fear. We grieve with our Muslim neighbors and stand firmly against hate in all its forms.
