Gigi's Got Gear Just one in the sisterhood of women over 50 who encourage each other to get outdoors and take some risks. No, my real name is not Gigi. I’m getting out there.

I hope you will enjoy reading about my adventures and will find inspiration for some of your own. That’s what my grandbabies call me, and I love being a Gigi 🙂 I have never been particularly athletic or physically strong, but I have always loved the outdoors and outdoor activities. I grew up camping with my family, the second of four daughters. I was the one who sometimes got up before dawn to go

fishing with my dad. I always wanted to explore beyond the campsite, sleep in the boat instead of the camper, and put more logs on the fire. Years later when I had four sons, I concluded that God knew what he was doing when he made me a boy mom. All four Eagle Scouts, we shared many years of outdoor activities, both in scouting and as a family. Now I’m in my 60’s, and it’s my time. (Along with my sidekick, Dottie.)
