The urge to DO MORE in order to get results or feel better comes from the hardwiring of our nervous system…it’s basically a form of fight or flight. And all around us advertisers take advantage of this by showing us the menu of quick fixes and promised results. When we are desperate for a change of some sort, our brains just can’t comprehend that rest, relaxation, and quiet time could actually be helpful. So we avoid “doing nothing” and resist taking a nap or a break from workouts only to end up burnt out, rigid, reactive, and possibly injured or sick!
