indiGO Wisconsin indiGO is a non-profit serving people with disabilities in NW Wisconsin. We serve people of all ages and all disabilities. Accommodations available upon request.

We empower people living with disablities to thrive independently. indiGO is the go-to resource here to connect you with new opportunities, new possibilites, and new realities. We are not an indepdendent-living facility but an independent living facilitatior. Facebook posts are screen reader compatible. Each photo contain alt text to describe each caption. Meet Our Executive Director, Emma Duchrow
I am honored to serve as Executive Director of indiGO and excited to continue my journey with an organization that has been such an important part of my professional life.
Having been with indiGO for over six years, I’ve grown alongside the agency and witnessed the impact our services have on individuals and communities throughout our region.
I began my career at indiGO as an Employment and Benefits Specialist, helping individuals navigate employment opportunities and benefits planning. After three years, I transitioned into the Assistant Director role, where I worked closely with staff, consumers, community partners, and the Board to support our mission and strengthen agency operations.
Today, I am grateful for the opportunity to take on the role of Executive Director.
I am passionate about promoting independence, accessibility, and inclusion, and I look forward to building on indiGO's strong foundation. Together with our dedicated staff, Board of Directors, consumers, and community partners, I am excited to continue advancing our mission and expanding opportunities for the people we serve.

Be Thoughtful…Be Respectful and Be Mindful….

Think those white stripes next to accessible parking spaces are just extra parking room? Maybe you’re not entirely sure what they are and you’re unaware that they’re important access aisles associated with accessible parking …Perhaps you’ve convinced yourself parking there just this once will be ok, no one will even notice or care… Think again!!

Those striped areas are called access aisles, and they are every bit as important as the accessible parking space itself. They provide the space needed for wheelchair ramps, lifts, walkers, canes, scooters, service equipment, and safe vehicle entry and exit. Without that space, a person with a disability may be unable to leave their vehicle, return to it, or travel safely to their destination. These spaces exist so people with disabilities can safely and independently access everyday places like stores, workplaces, clinics, and community events. The extra space and closer location are not perks; they are necessary accommodations.

Accessible parking is not a VIP perk. It's a civil right that helps ensure people with disabilities have equal access to workplaces, schools, medical appointments, businesses, parks, and community events. These spaces help promote independence, safety, dignity, and full participation in everyday life.

Accessible spaces are for vehicles displaying a valid disability placard or license plate.

Access aisles must remain clear at all times.

No parking, standing, waiting, unloading, or "I'll just be a minute" excuses.

The consequences can be costly. Parking illegally in an accessible space or blocking an access aisle can result in hefty fines, towing, citations, and other legal penalties. But the real cost is much greater. One careless parking decision can prevent someone from getting to work, attending a medical appointment, picking up groceries, or simply participating in their community.
So next time you see blue signs and white stripes, remember:

• Blue signs mean accessible parking.
• White stripes mean access aisles.
• Accessibility is a right, not a privilege.
