Witnessing folks open their minds and accept natural pathways to health is a wonderful thing. Yet, I see a trend that is disconcerting.
Herbal medicine truly operates on the principle of supporting the body’s natural balance rather than merely suppressing the symptoms.
Many are just "replacing" their prescriptions with an onslaught of herbal combinations. Just feeding their body every herb that says it does this for that, and that for this, and then are becoming frustrated when instant relief isn't achieved.
That's not how it works.
The holistic approach focuses on nourishing what is depleted, calming what is overactive, and clearing what is stagnant to restore overall health.
By addressing underlying imbalances in energy, fluid, and blood flow, this traditional system aims to create the conditions for the body to thrive. Instead of targeting isolated organs, it views the body as an interconnected whole. Instead of addressing the what, it gives attention to the why.
Take the time and listen to your body. Work with an experienced functioning medicine provider, or functional herbalist who will take time to fully research your conditions and help you with a natural and holistic path to wellness.
