Dynamic Wellness Duo took a brief summer vacation for a family wedding but we are back! We about a month away from celebrating one year in practice in Western North Carolina where we focus on holistic modalities & family care, Chinese Medicine & Craniosacral Therapy, and most importantly, we want to thank you for such a warm welcome this past year!
You’ll find us at Swannanoa Market this Saturday from 10-3 with Dr. Whyrick’s Botanicals and Ear Seeds (it’s going to be such a fun one with PBS Kids Rootle Roadster Tour and the Swannanoa Fire & Rescue Open House), and we will be at Hickory Nut Gap Big Barn Market next Sunday June 28th with the Appalachian Maker’s Collective!
When not at our summer market booths, we are in clinic in Swannanoa where we are focused on supporting your empowered wellness, working often with hard-to-identify health issues. Both of us practitioners, Dr. Whyrick & Meghan Hedley, came to these modalities from first-hand experiences with our own chronic health patterns. We know what it’s like to feel lost in a see of protocols, health trends and self research, and thankfully, we also know what its like to feel hope, that deep breath of “I am supported, no longer alone in this, and am experiencing profound healing.”
Dr. Christopher Whyrick, DACM, L Ac originally found natural medicine approaches with his childhood asthma experience, leading him to study various modalities for 30 years, ultimately becoming a Chinese Medicine practitioner focusing in Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine and incorporating other modalities as is called for. He regularly works with patients who have tried many approaches but still can’t quite figure out what's happening, who are seeking support & guidance in identifying the root cause. He works with, to name a few, autoimmune struggles, both acute & longstanding body pain/discomfort, nerve issues, a unique approach to hormonal shifts, mental-emotional health, and so on- approaching you from a WHOLE standpoint and creating customized-to-you treatment plans, working with all ages (yes, even as young as a few weeks old :)).
Meghan Hedley, LMBT NC #23217 practices Craniosacral Therapy as her main modality focusing in newborn & infant sessions, mother-baby dyad support (the most vital connection!), and women’s wellness. Her introduction into natural modalities came through her own lengthy challenges with mental health through her teens and twenties accompanied by chronic bladder pain that struggled to be treated by conventional approaches. She then went on to over a decade of graduate medical study after a profound experience with Chinese Herbal Medicine & Acupuncture, and added to her Chinese Medicine Studies a deep dive into Craniosacral Therapy (a gentle form of light palpation and touch around the spine, head & sacrum that aids the body toward a deep reset).
We work individually or collaboratively based on what best suits your needs, and are passionate about helping you find hope, possibility and the sense of support. Both of us have wandered health paths without clear direction, and it was through our deep dives, years of study and personal experience with mentors and practitioners that we learned how to approach health from a truly holistic & empowered manner with the goal of walking alongside and empowering you in your journey.
We are so thankful to be here settling our family (including our toddler boy & hound puppy) into the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, serving patients & clients with the modalities we absolutely love.
To book a free 15 minute phone consult with either of us where you can ask your questions, find the link to our website in comments or call 202-758-5858 directly.
We are a self-pay practice but are happy to write super bills. Dr. Whyrick also works with VA insurance and case by case Motor Vehicle Accidents. We work to make your treatment plan flexible for you so that you can get the care you deserve with the frequency that makes sense with your schedule!
