Over the 14 years of teaching Reiki, my relationship with Reiki training has evolved more than once.
While I still deeply value Reiki Level I & II teachings, I’ve found myself moving away from the model of trying to move people quickly through multiple levels in a single weekend.
In watching students over the last few years, I’ve felt increasingly called to create spaces that allow for slowing down, embodiment, reflection, & integration.
For me, Reiki Level I has always been about returning to self. It is where we begin learning how to listen more deeply to the body, the nervous system, intuition, energy, & presence. That kind of awareness takes space and time. It takes grounding. It takes time to truly feel what is unfolding within us.
In 2017, when I revamped my trainings, I introduced Qigong practices because I saw how naturally they supported breath, grounding, & awareness of energy flow. But I always felt there was room to go deeper.
A few months ago, during meditation, I had a strong vision of creating a retreat experience that more fully integrated Reiki, Qigong, embodied practices, nature immersion, & contemplative space.
That vision eventually led me to partnering with Dr. Julie Hutsell-Starling, a friend & colleague. When I first approached her, we didn’t yet know exactly what it would become, but it immediately felt aligned. As we continued meeting & talking, the retreat naturally began taking shape.
Rather than approaching Reiki as a standalone certification experience, this retreat allows the practices to support one another within a grounded, restorative container. The mountains themselves become part of the experience, supporting us in slowing down enough to reconnect with ourselves more deeply.
This retreat reflects the direction my work has been growing towards...grounded, experiential spaces that support restoration, embodiment, & genuine connection. It also feels deeply meaningful to return to the mountains where I conducted my doctoral research on spiritual landscapes & experiences of the sacred in nature. Hope you'll join me.
Even if you are already a Reiki Master or have completed Level I, there will be something here for you.
