This is why I’m always looking at the entire lower face, not just the area that bothers you. 🤍

The shadowing, downturned mouth corners, and heaviness through the jowl weren’t something I wanted to chase with more filler. Instead, we addressed the muscular pull with a Nefertiti Neck Lift + DAO tox.

Sometimes, more filler isn’t the answer. 👄

If you naturally have more space between the base of your nose and your upper lip, repeatedly adding filler to create more upper lip show can eventually make the lips appear distorted or overfilled without addressing the anatomy behind the concern.

In the right patient, a surgical lip lift may be the better long-term solution. By shortening that space, it reveals more of the pink upper lip and creates better balance between the nose and upper lip.

For a long time, I could not figure out why my face looked wider and less like its natural shape.

Eventually, I realized the lateral cheek filler was the problem.

The added volume was distorting my natural face shape instead of creating balance, so I decided to dissolve it. Removing that unnecessary width made such a difference in my overall proportions. ✨

Now, I see the same thing regularly in my practice. When clients come to me with previous cheek filler, we almost always end up dissolving the lateral cheeks because the added volume is working against their natural anatomy.

My own experience and training with Dr. Thuy Doan MD, MBA, MHA completely changed the way I inject this area. I rarely treat lateral cheeks anymore because facial balancing is not about adding filler everywhere.

It is about knowing where volume will enhance the face and where it will distort it. 💉
