I am going to make some tea and I want to give some to my daughter for her cat Johnson. Johnson has a tumor growth under the tongue. I am really sad. I took them to the Vet hospital. I witnessed the whole meeting, because we did it through the window of our car- I suggested tea, and she was nervous because she didn't know the facts on giving animals Essiac tea. It is totally safe for cats and dogs.

"Essiac, a tea reportedly developed by the Ojibwa tribe of Canada and widely publicized as a homeopathic cancer treatment, is prepared from a mixture of four herbs Arctium lappa, Rumex acetosella, Ulmus rubra and Rheum officinale. Each of these herbs has been reported to possess antioxidant and anti-cancer activity. Essiac itself has also been reported to demonstrate anti-cancer activity in vitro, although its effects in vivo are still a matter of debate. We prepared an extract of Essiac tea from a concentration of 25mg/mL and boiled it for 10 min. From this preparation we used concentrations of 5, 10, 25 and 50% to measure Essiac effects. In this study, we examined the effects of Essiac on free radical scavenging and DNA damage in a non-cellular system, as well as the effects Essiac on lipid peroxidation using the RAW 264.7 cell line. We observed, using electron spin resonance, that Essiac effectively scavenged hydroxyl, up to 84% reduction in radical signal at the 50% tea preparation concentration, and superoxide radicals, up to 82% reduction in radical signal also at the 50% tea preparation concentration, as well as prevented hydroxyl radical-induced DNA damage. In addition, Essiac inhibited hydroxyl radical-induced lipid peroxidation by up to 50% at the 50% tea preparation concentration. These data indicate that Essiac tea possesses potent antioxidant and DNA-protective activity, properties that are common to natural anti-cancer agents. This study may help to explain the mechanisms behind the reported anti-cancer effects of Essiac."

Burdock root is a vegetable that’s native to northern Asia and Europe, though it now grows in the United States, too. The deep roots of the burdock plant are very long and either brown or nearly black on the outside.

Hello -- I know I don't post too much. But, I thought this was important about the Essaic Tea. Yesterday I traveled to Cleveland to visit Kelly to show her how to to make the tea with the herbs. I forgot my recipe book and brought just the herbs to show her how to mix it correct and brew the tea properly. I had a rough idea for a small batch, but I wanted to give her exacts measurements. Well, I went to the good old internet to find the information and there was nothing really on there except to buy Pre- Mixed and a way of boiling it. I was shocked because less than 6 months ago, I found tons of information on it, and read it all. I love to be updated. Well, she learned how to make it. I just wanted to be exact. The process is not that complicated I am posting this, because if any of you are interested in making it or trying it first, let me know. I make it at least twice a month. I also have recipes for small and large batches. The process of boiling is a little picky but if you work with herbs before than you will understand it. The longest process is the to steep it for 12 hours. Well let me know and if you have any questions too.
