When does performance actually happen? 🐎

In equestrian sport, a lot of attention is given to training. Training plans, performance development and the next goals are discussed in great detail.

Far less attention is given to what happens between those periods of exertion.

Yet these phases are an essential part of the bigger picture. Development is not driven by training alone, but also by the body’s ability to process workload and recover from it.

That’s why, at EQUUSIR, we always take a holistic view of horses. Training, the regeneration of muscles, tendons and ligaments, mental stressors such as herd dynamics, the stable as a place of retreat, and the quality of deep sleep at night, as well as the immune system, nervous system, feed selection, and emotional factors such as spookiness or anxiety are all inseparably connected in our eyes. 🙏🙏
