Before the month is over, I would like to acknowledge that September is National Su***de Awareness and Prevention Month. 💙 🤍
Bringing awareness to su***de, recognizing the growing need for mental health support, and reminding people that they are not alone are things that are deeply important to me.
In the months of August and September su***de has struck my family and friends more than once, and in more ways than one. It has been a painful reminder that when a life is lost to su***de, it is never just one life that is affected. The loss reaches into the lives of parents, children, siblings, partners, friends, and so many others who are left behind to navigate a world that suddenly feels different.
The people left behind don't simply forget. They wake up every day carrying the memory of that person, remembering the day, the moment, the conversations, the questions, and the things they wish they could have changed. Over time, the pain may become quieter. It may even begin to feel numb at times. But that doesn't mean the loss isn't still there. We simply learn how to carry something we never wanted to carry in the first place.
I think that's why connection matters so much.
Checking in. Having the hard conversations. Making time for the people we love. Giving ourselves permission to rest. Taking care of our bodies and our minds. And remembering that self-care isn't something we have to earn—it is something we deserve, especially when life feels heavy.
In support of those who are carrying mental health burdens, I will be opening my schedule for a PAY WHAT YOU CAN Massage Therapy Event. 🤍
I will have 5 spots available each day for a 60-minute Restoration Session:
📅 Sunday, October 4th
⏰ 10 AM – 7 PM
📅 Thursday, October 8th
⏰ 10 AM – 7 PM
📅 Sunday, October 11th
⏰ 10 AM – 7 PM
If you are someone who could use some intentional time to breathe, rest, release, and reconnect with yourself but don't have room in your budget for massage right now, I want you to reach out.
And if you know someone who could use some care but may not be able to afford it right now, please share this with them. You never know what someone may be carrying quietly.
There is no judgment and no expectation. Just a space to pause, receive some care, and give yourself permission to be restored.
Let's keep checking on our people.
Let's keep having the conversations.
Let's stay connected.
And let's remember that sometimes taking care of ourselves is part of finding our way through the things that hurt.
You don't have to carry everything alone. 🤍
