Could your pelvic floor be weak? Maybe. Is that the culprit of all your symptoms? Probably not.

Women’s health and pelvic therapy have come so far and, thankfully, we now know there’s so much more that contributes to pelvic floor dysfunction. This is why many women don’t see results from the traditional “pelvic therapy” of kegals & clamshells. This is especially true for clients I work with. Many of them are active runners and functional fitness athletes and very strong at baseline! 💪🏼

For stubborn symptoms, we have to zoom out and look at the body as a system. We need to find the contributing factors and address them. Sometimes this may be focused on the pelvic floor itself. Other situations might warrant treating another involved area to take pressure off the pelvic floor.

The point is, you need someone who is willing and able to look beyond the pelvic floor. Make sure you have a great clinician who assesses the whole system. 🩵

A few early-mid postpartum exercises I’ve been working on to support my recovering pelvis (specifically core + adductors)!

The goal: Build pelvic girdle stability before progressing to standing, jumping, and running exercise.

In every exercise, the focus should be
➡️ tucking the tailbone and maintaining the low back pressed into the floor
➡️ continuing to breathe 360 degrees into the ribs and abdomen
➡️ staying controlled

Give them a try! And remember every woman’s recovery process is unique. Reach out for an evaluation and program tailored to you 🩵

Build that foundation! 💪🏼

It’s worth the extra time and effort postpartum to make sure the pelvic girdle is stable and strong prior to impact exercise like long distance running.

Everyone is different, but I’m almost three months postpartum here and still working on stages 1 & 2. I tried running a few times prematurely (I’m so impatient 😅) and ended up setting myself back with p***c pain.

Another mom’s timeline and healing may look different than mine and that’s okay! Birth experience, sleep, nutrition, family support, and many other factors can affect your readiness. This is just a general framework, not an individualized plan. If you need guidance with where to start or how to progress, reach out 💪🏼🩵

I am thinking about the mothers tonight.

The one holding a crying baby at 2am, wondering if she’s doing something wrong.
The one sitting in a hospital room hours from home, trying not to panic while her family keeps life going without her.
The one who would have labored alone if someone hadn’t stepped in and said, “I’ll stay.”
The baby who wasn’t gaining well until someone brought them to group and we caught it before it became an emergency.
The parent who just needed a few supplies, a listening ear, a home visit, a place to come be seen before things spiraled.

I think about what happens when those calls come in and there is no gas in the tank.
No supplies on the shelf.
No office space that week.
No technology to connect virtually.
No way to get there in time.

I am not afraid of hard work.
I am afraid of a mother reaching out in tears and there being nowhere for her to land.

We have always said yes.
We have always found a way.
We have always shown up — even when it meant volunteering hours, covering costs ourselves, stretching everything further than it should stretch.

But we are at a breaking point.
Operating funds are critically low, and the families who rely on this care cannot wait for systems to catch up. Babies are born every day. Feeding struggles happen every day. Emergencies don’t pause for paperwork.

So tonight I am asking — from a place of deep love for these families — for this community to step in.

If you have ever received support that changed your story…
If someone helped you feed your baby…
If someone sat with you in labor…
If someone caught something early that protected your child…
If you carry the memory of a baby, a mother, or a season when care mattered more than words…

Please consider giving in honor of that.

Give in honor of the milk that fed your baby.
Give in memory of a child who should be here.
Give in gratitude for the support that carried you.
Give because you believe no parent should face these moments alone.

We need:
• Businesses willing to make a meaningful gift to keep services open
• Community members able to give $50, $100, $500, or more
• Monthly donors who can help stabilize this work
• Anyone connected to emergency funding who can help bridge this gap

Every larger gift right now directly keeps care in place for families who have nowhere else to turn.

I cannot bear the thought of telling a mother we can’t help.
I cannot bear the thought of a baby slipping through the cracks because we ran out of resources.
I cannot bear the thought of someone giving birth, feeding, or grieving alone when we could have been there.

If you’ve ever believed this work matters, this is the moment to hold it up with us.

Your gift tonight keeps the lights on, the doors open, the phone answered, the visit possible.
Your gift keeps someone from being alone in one of the most vulnerable moments of their life.

Thank you for loving these families with us.

Just a little social media versus reality check. I always love advocating for women’s health, active pregnancies, and showing what our bodies are capable of 💪🏼🩵

At the same time, I don’t want to paint a false picture. My account is fitness-forward and shows more of the good days than the bad. I’ve faced barriers to exercising during this time..fatigue, nausea, pelvic pain, a body I don’t recognize, and more.

And that’s OKAY. Every woman’s pregnancy is different. Just keep showing up. Some days modifying workouts or taking a complete rest, and other days pushing the limits when you feel good. You’re not alone- seek out help from experienced trainers or a pelvic floor physical therapist if you need to.

It can be a roller coaster, and that’s okay 🩵

In addition to modifying workouts, I’ve been focusing a little more on relaxation and mobility of my hips and pelvic floor in this late third trimester of pregnancy.

Prior to this week, I had been ignoring the signs from my body and instead had been pushing through tough workouts like I’m used to doing. Rather than making me feel better, it was depleting me. A nice talk with helped challenge me to take more cues from my body.

As labor approaches, so much changes physically, mentally, and hormonally within the body. Everyone is different in the way this manifests but it’s important to meet your body where it’s at and give it some TLC.

My mobility circuit: 3 rounds
-15 yoga block hip shifts per side
-15 supported lunge hip flexor mobilizations per side
-2 minutes of rounded back deep breathing with side shifts

Harder than it looks!

First full year as a business completed! ✅🥳

I set out in 2025 with goals to give more, learn more, and educate more. It fills me with gratitude to reflect on the year and confidently feel that I was able to do those things.

Sometimes it’s hard for me not to look back and think I should have accomplished more, should be further along, etc…but what I’ve realized is that becoming better will always be an ongoing process. It’s never something to reach because there will always be ways to learn, improve, and serve. Stopping that pursuit would be a disservice to those I work with.

I’m sure 2026 will look a lot different and a bit more chaotic with a newborn in the picture. No matter what, I’ll always continue to

✅ treat people with the highest level of 1:1 care they deserve without third party payer restrictions
✅ provide free and/or affordable education to the community to spread meaningful health information
✅ better myself as a clinician through ongoing mentorship and classes so I can be the best for my clients

Thank you to all who continue to support Versatile Fitness & Physical Therapy. Whether you’ve trusted me with your care, learned from a workshop, or shared content that could help someone in your life, I appreciate it 🩵

✨ Wrap & Wander ✨
Saturday, Dec 20 | 11–5

Most of us have felt things get tighter this year. The days feel heavier. There may be fewer gifts under the tree, but the spirit is still here. Part of the beauty of this season is in the colors and textures—in the small acts that make a place feel more like home.

Bring the gifts you’re wrapping and let us take care of that part for you with donation-based gift wrapping. Then wander the tables and build your own Christmas cookie box, choosing from dozens of homemade treats laid out for you—fill a box with favorites to share or keep close.

Every dollar stays right here in our mountains, helping families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and the long in-between seasons where support truly matters. It helps us show up in hospital rooms and hollers, living rooms and late nights—with care that is steady, local, and deeply human.

This is an easy way to give.
A neighbor-to-neighbor kind of giving.

Come wrap. Come wander. Come help us make this season feel a little more like home in these mountains. 🤍

Can't make it and still want to donate?
