Today, we recognize Juneteenth — a day that commemorates freedom and reminds us of the ongoing journey toward equity in our communities and healthcare.
At Upstate Transplant Center, we are committed to advancing health equity in organ donation and transplantation.
While progress continues, disparities remain — Black/African American patients make up a significantly higher portion of those waiting for transplants compared to their representation among donors.
This Juneteenth, we reaffirm our commitment to:
❤️ Increasing access to transplantation
❤️ Building trust in the donation process
❤️ Promoting diversity in organ donation
❤️ Ensuring every patient has a fair chance at life-saving transplant
