If you’ve ever had a laser or resurfacing treatment and noticed your skin feeling rough, dry, or a little “sandpapery” after… that’s MENDS.
It stands for microscopic epidermal necrotic debris, but all that really means is tiny pieces of treated skin making their way out.
MENDS are totally normal and part of the process.
It usually shows up a few days after your treatment and can look like:
→ Light flaking
→ A bronzed or speckled texture
→ Roughness when you wash your face
It’s not peeling in sheets. It’s subtle, but you’ll feel it! Once it clears, you’ll start to see smoother, brighter, more even skin.
