🐜 It is our great pleasure to finally, formally welcome everyone to the Autism Nature Trail at Letchworth State Park (ANT).

🍁 This 1-mile, ADA compliant trail has eight self-guided interactive sensory stations specifically designed for patrons on the autism spectrum.

🌱 There are shortcuts to shorten your adventure if preferred. Some stations stimulate, some stations soothe:

💎 Explore new nature treasures at the sensory station.

☀️ Enjoy the gentle rocking of a cuddle swing at Sunshine Slope.

🎶 Serenade the woods at the Music Circle.

🌳 Let the woods calm you at the Reflection Knoll.

🏃🏽‍♀️ Dash like the wind at the Meadow Run and Climb.

🪵 Build a masterpiece shelter from natural materials at the Design Zone.

🧱 Experiment with new trail surfaces at the Playful Path.

🥳 Lastly, look back on your journey and make your mark on the chalkboard at the Celebration Station.

🐜 🐜 🐜 This project is the result of Loren Penman, Gail Serventi, and Susan Herrnstein’s tireless dedication to a seven-year vision to create a truly inclusive positive outdoor experience for all.

🔨 NYS Parks provided the land, and the ANT, its own organization, raised $3.3 million of public funds to cover the cost of construction.

🍂 Most importantly, everyone should come and enjoy the ANT, open and free during Letchworth State Park hours of operation, 6am to 11pm.

Recently, one of CTN's longtime employee's, Kerri Cook, received sad news regarding her husband Brett. He was diagnosed just few weeks ago with an aggressive form of AML which is a type of bone marrow leukemia. Kerri immediately took one month leave to be with Brett through his hospitalization and first round of chemo and is not yet sure when she will be able to return to work as he may need to find treatment at more distant hospitals if a stem cell transplant is necessary.
Kerri has worked for CTN for over 17 years and is the Team Leader for the physical therapists at the Utica office. She has always gone above and beyond for the kids and families that she treats. If anyone would like to reach out to her or make a donation to the GoFundMe website page that has been set up for her family, I know it would be greatly appreciated.
