🔥🔥🔥This exercise brings it!!! We get the benefit of ground reaction forces by using this step. She’s getting impact with the stomp, as well as the explosive power, pushing off the box.
👉 Older adults lose power at a faster rate than they lose strength, and this can be critical for the speed and force needed to respond to a potential loss of balance. Power training must be part of a comprehensive bone health program.

✨Because we’re doing it in a lateral direction it’s improving the lateral stability of the hip. This is important for preventing the type of fall that causes a hip fracture. ✨

Moving in different directions is also providing the variety of stimulus are bones really crave! 🙌

In my Day 2 recap there was a comment that created a lot of friction:

A physician made this statement: "The adverse effects of not treating osteoporosis are tremendous."
A few of you saw that and had questions. Fair enough. Context matters.
That statement was made in a room of medical providers talking about medication management. The point being made was that people tend to overestimate the risks of medication while underestimating the risks of doing nothing. That is a clinically important observation, and it is true. It's not up for debate. These providers see the results of inaction, and misinformation.

Now, you know me. I am not a prescriber and I limit conversations about medications in my group. That is not my lane, and it is not why I built this community. But I am also not anti-medication, and I never will be. For some of you, medication is an essential part of your bone health plan, and that is a legitimate, evidence-based choice.

What I want you to take from that statement is this: inaction carries real risk.

Whether your path includes medication or not, the worst thing any of us can do is keep our heads in the sand. Fracture risk is real.

And the good news is that the actions you take, the way you move, load your bones, fuel your body, and build strength, genuinely reduce that risk. That is why this space exists.
You are not powerless here. But you do have to show up. I provide resources to help you do this.
