Patellofemoral rehab often focuses on more than just the knee itself. For this patient, the goal of these exercises is to improve lower extremity stability and movement control through the hips, trunk, and knee together.
Today’s focus included:
• posterior chain strength
• dynamic stability and balance
• glute activation
• improved control during loaded movement
These exercises each challenge the body in different ways, but all work toward the same goal: improving knee stability and reducing excessive stress at the patellofemoral joint during daily activity and exercise.
The goal is not only to decrease pain, but to help the patient move with more strength, confidence, and control.
