The Well of Undiscovered Treasures has not yet run dry. I would have easily paid $30 for this painting. How about you?

A long-lost painting by Gertrude Abercrombie that was picked up at a Michigan estate sale netted a stunning $1.35 million at auction.

Hmmmm, I wonder just what I might find at the upcoming Landmark Tacoma Home estate sale in the Historic North End.….Who knows? After all, the house was built the same year Washington became a state and was the center of political, civic, suffragist and social activity for decades since the late 1800s. Launching August 8-9, by appointment. Details coming soon.

The Inner Life: not quite Frida Kahlo, but the message is similar in this little piece of Mexican folk pottery. Here’s to the dreams and visions women carry despite essential everyday duties of home and work and family. And here’s a toast to all of the wonderful, caring, creative, generous, loving, intelligent mothers (like mine!) in our lives. We really celebrate you 24/7/365, but one special day is a start. Cheers to the women who help children, and family, and friends, grow. Happy Mother’s Day! See less

“Who’ll Buy My Memories?” In recognition of April 15 and Willie Nelson‘s landmark Tax Troubles of the early 1990s, but also because when I heard this song today, it resonated with what my team often thinks about as we work with clients’ collections. Some of the most interesting histories are never published, so we try to save — and share— what we can of those.
