Kash Krop

The boar stud business requires good friends that you trust and knowing that when they call you about one, you gotta pay attention. That’s the case here with Kash Krop. We had several buddies at Lackeys Spring sale that could not stop talking about the red one from Kotton West. Even when i tried to call someone else outside my circle about the sale offering it always ended in “but this Duroc of Kotton West is incredible.” So even though getting into the red boar business wasn’t on our bingo card for 2026, good animals are good animals and we gathered him up.

Kash Krop has been truly so enjoyable to watch grow up. For a red he has spread to his chest, with a square knee and the perfect cushion to his foot. Bone is extreme and while I think his picture is very good, I don’t think you can fully grasp how big his legs are until you see him in person. He’s loose built, with tremendous angles. I guess if we are going to offer a Duroc boar we wanted to offer the right one and we think Kash Krop is the kind that will make improvement and stick around a while. He’s a tad ornery and we haven’t gotten a video yet, but we will. Thanks to Kotton and family for assembling one like this and we feel very fortunate to add one of this quality to our battery!

A short, but powerful quote that Bred and Owned Gilt Judge, Nathan Day, found written down from his grandparents, and shared with Expo exhibitors last week.

His challenge to us all? To remember that "having someone who believes in you is the most important gift we can give to the kids and youth in livestock." And by believing in others, our industry becomes far more than just an industry, "it becomes a community."

The dust has finally settled from my last Texas major run. With that, I am behind on posting about our State Fair/Tulsa pigs on the ground! There is a mix of belts, blues, and durocs that ares sired by some of the best.
