Daughter of a Flight Attendant father and a Fashion Designer mother, Laure Barry (Nose and Founder of Gold Essence Cosmetics) developed a passion for travel since her young age. Not able to find what she was looking for, she started making her own natural products. Having suffered from asthma since childhood, she found out through research that some chemicals like phthalates could be a trigger; she then decided to make her own fragrance line. Inspiration
Through the meditation of one of her favorite scriptures (Revelation 21:19-21), Laure was inspired to name her Perfumes after the gemstones mentioned in these scriptures. Each perfume reminds her of a city, place, area she has visited and loved. Her passion for travel is reflected through the different stories accompanying the fragrances. Quality
At Gold Essence Cosmetics (G.E.C.) we are dedicated to artisanal perfumery using only natural and pure essential oils, absolutes, concretes, CO2 extracts; as well as premium fragrance compounds that are free from hazardous chemicals (like phthalates). The concentrated odorous part (“parfumage”) is then infused in a natural fractionated coconut oil base and macerated for several months. Integrity
We do not test our products on animals. We do not use substances that are obtained by killing animals or making them suffer like civet, castoreum and animal musc extracts. Packaging
Our perfumes are handpoured in colored roll-on bottles representing the different gemstones. The bottles are beautifully packaged in gold bullion like boxes with an organza bag inside. The size of the bottles and the small bags coming with them, make it convenient to carry your perfume wherever you go: you won’t have to worry anymore about it complying with airport liquid restrictions or fitting in your purse. Our heart is towards helping orphans and other children from very low income families. In that effect, Gold Essence Cosmetics gives back 10% of its proceeds to World Changers – a non-profit organization based in Washington D.C. which supports kids all around the world, providing for their immediate needs such as food, water, medicine, etc. They also help in the construction of schools as they believe in economic growth through Youth education.
