My Lion’s Mane Tincture is done!!!

The dark jar is the alcohol extraction started in April. The lighter is the water extraction done today. Final image is the two mixed (a little heavy on the alcohol to prevent mold).

What do you do when a plant variety is left over at the end of the season??

Make Medicine!!!

Plantago major - Broadleaf Plantain - is a common yard ‘weed’ that is soooo underestimated!

I harvested the leaves from each of the six remaining plants, just enough to fill the dehydrator but not enough to hurt the plants. Typically I’d like to air dry these but I’m short on time.

Once the leaves are dry, they’ll be mixed with olive oil in a jar and stored in a cupboard for 4 to 6 weeks. After that we strain the plant material out and mix the remaining medicinal oil with beeswax, vitamins E, and (optional) essential oil to make the most amazing salve for itch. Works for mosquito bites, bee stings, ant bites, rashes…even sunburn!! GOD gave us everything we need!

Happy Sunday Beautiful People!!!

Well, we nearly sold out at the farmers market yesterday. We have a few plants left for your enjoyment and will be running an incredible deal this week if you pick up before Friday.

We have one Arnica, Dandelion, some horehound, a Lemon Balm, Licorice, Lovage, one Marshmallow, Mullen, Plantain, Tulsi/Holy basil.

We can either take an appointment at the greenhouse or prepaid for porch pick up before Friday this week. Any plant $5 - three for $10 any size!
