You leave urgent care with a new prescription and instructions. Yet two weeks later at your primary care doctor's office, their chart still shows the old medication list. Nobody did anything wrong. The update just never made it from one system to the next.

This happens in smaller ways too. You mention something in one visit — maybe a new symptom or a medication you stopped taking — and it doesn't get recorded. So next time, you're starting over, hoping you remember to say it again.

Holding all of this information together should not be so hard, especially when you — as a patient or caregiver — already carry so much, often in life's hardest moments. That's one of the reasons we founded WellConnector: so your information follows you.

Our team is comprised of individuals who deeply value community. We're grateful to be building something alongside so many people and organizations who care about the same thing: the health and quality of life of everyone who lives in the place we call home. Keep following as we get ready to press "start" on WellConnector in the Big Bend, which we proudly refer to as the "Capital Region Healthcare Innovation Hub."

59 million. That's how many Americans are providing unpaid care for an adult loved one right now — parents, spouses, adult children — totaling nearly 50 billion hours of care a year, valued at over $1 trillion nationally (AARP, 2026).

In Florida alone, 4.3 million people caring for adults are putting in 4.1 billion hours annually — work worth an estimated $81 billion.

Behind so many of those numbers, there is someone standing in a waiting room, trying to recall a parent's medications from memory. Rewriting the same medical history for the third specialist this year. Managing paperwork for someone who is not able to manage it themselves.

Caregivers already carry so much. Repetitive intake forms shouldn't be one more thing on that list. That's exactly the problem WellConnector was built to solve — giving patients and the people caring for them a way to carry accurate health information and share it in seconds, wherever care happens. No clipboard. No starting from scratch every visit.

We're getting closer to bringing WellConnector to life, and we can't wait to show you what's next. Stay tuned. 💙

What if the next time you walked into a doctor's office, they already had everything they needed — because YOU brought it with you?

Not on paper. Not from memory. But securely, digitally, and in your control.

That's the future WellConnector is building. Born right here in Tallahassee, our app gives patients a portable, verified health profile they can share instantly at any point of care — no clipboards, no repeated questions, no gaps in the story of your health.

We're a mission-driven team that believes the healthcare system can work better — for patients, for caregivers, and for the providers who serve them. And we're seeing that belief reflected in the responses we're getting — from our neighbors here in the Big Bend to the halls of CMS in Washington.

We're coming soon. And we can't wait to meet you. 💙

Jill Schlesinger of CBS Saturday Morning recently discussed tips for caregivers, including those in the sandwich generation. In this segment, she discusses the toll on caregivers (citing AARP's latest data) and how a central repository caregivers can access (for lists like doctors, medications etc.) can help give them a sense of control and keep things from falling through the cracks. We could not agree more and believe WellConnector will be a tool caregivers can rely on.

WellConnector debuted a live demonstration on April 9, during the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) “HealthTech Ecosystem Live! First Wave Launch” event in Washington, DC. The event brought together an initial set of patient-facing apps to move the nation “beyond clipboards, fax machines, and repetitive paperwork into a seamless, digital‑first era” — including Tallahassee-based WellConnector.

WellConnector became an early adopter to pledge support for the CMS “Kill the Clipboard” initiative. After demonstrating its readiness, a demo video was requested, reviewed and then selected by CMS to be highlighted onstage during the agency’s event and livestreamed to national audiences. The WellConnector team came home energized and inspired by the personal stories driving the push toward patient-centered solutions.

WellConnector’s participation in the CMS First Wave Launch marks a significant step for the team and its work — demonstrating how coordinated infrastructure and private-sector innovation can deliver simpler, more connected experiences for patients.

ICYMI: In this 850 Business Magazine story on the rural health care renaissance taking place in North Florida and beyond, Eddie Gonzalez Loumiet of WellConnector and Ruvos describes how organizations like ours and local partners can help facilitate technological transitions and advancements in rural communities, as "not only a bridge technologically, because literally we move data, but also strategically.”

We loved this quote from Dr. Rosa Bernier, describing a dynamic health record as something she’s been hopeful to see the industry achieve: “That kind of universal dynamic health record, that the patient can take from one place to another, will facilitate our work a lot. It is a real access to health and wellness and an improvement to the health care system.”
