So, we are starting with a new adventure. Over the past year or so, I’ve co-treated clients regularly together with an amazing trauma therapist who has a PhD in clinical psychology. She is using ITR (Instinctive Trauma Response) and parts work methods such as Internal Famliy Systems in her practice.

In the past months, we have decided to take this a step further and offer a 3 day intensive fully integrative psychotherapy and bodywork experience. I think this is truthful offering the clients the best of both worlds. So excited……

Why do so many mouth guards make things worse when you clench (bruxism) or have TMJD?

Wanna know?

Here is why. Many people clench because the lower jaw does not have enough space to start with. In order for the muscles to close the jaw completely, they need to work hard. For many people with bruxism, ideally their lower jaw should come a little forward in order to allow the muscles to relax a little.

So, now that you know that your lower jaw might need to come forward a little, what happens when you add a mouth guard to the mix? Exactly, you add a layer of mataerial between the lower and upper teeth. How can de jaw compensate for that? By moving your lower jaw more backward, which means the muscles need to work even harder.

If you are clench or have to deal with TMJD, Craniosacral therapy, especially our mouth work protocol can be a game changer. Call us at (850 363-8897 (Kim) or (850) 510-4877 (Melissa) to make an appointment.....

Very often, we are at war with our emotions, our parts, anything, because we work from a paradigm that we should be that monolithic identity that is always doing everything right.

Did you know that many Covid-19 patients may develop Dysautonomia after they contract the virus?

The Dysautonomia Project (TDP - a non-profit group) advocates that CranioSacral Therapy is one of the top 10 non-pharmacological treatments for this disorder.

Dysautonomia is an umbrella term used to describe several different medical conditions that cause a malfunction of the Autonomic Nervous System. The Autonomic Nervous System controls the "automatic" functions of the body that we do not consciously think about, such as heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, dilation and constriction of the pupils of the eye, kidney function, and temperature control. People living with various forms of dysautonomia have trouble regulating these systems, which can result in lightheadedness, fainting, unstable blood pressure, abnormal heart rates, malnutrition, and in severe cases, death.

Our work is so important, and the word is spreading about how beneficial CST is!
