There is something profoundly moving about a five-generation photograph.
In a single frame, we see more than faces. We see stories, sacrifices, traditions, resilience, and love passed from one generation to the next. The hands that once held us were first held by someone else. The values we carry today were often planted decades before we were born.
This photo captures Jen as a baby in her father’s arms, surrounded by generations of family who helped shape the life she would one day build. Some names are remembered clearly. Others have faded with time. Yet their influence remains.
Family history isn’t always simple. It can be filled with joy, grief, pride, unanswered questions, and complicated relationships. But understanding where we come from can help us better understand who we are.
In counseling, we often explore the stories that have been handed down through families—both the ones we cherish and the ones we’re working to heal. Sometimes growth begins when we recognize that we’re part of something larger than ourselves.
Whether you’re navigating family relationships, processing loss, breaking unhealthy patterns, or simply trying to understand your own story more deeply, you don’t have to do it alone.
🌸 At Cherry Blossom Counseling, we believe healing can honor the past while creating space for a healthier future.
