Stop being a bad friend to yourself 🫣

You keep waiting to feel confident, swearing it will come once you lose a few pounds or get organized or update your wardrobe.

But confidence doesn’t come from having things, it comes from trust, and evidence that you’ll do what you say you’ll do.

So be honest: how often are you letting yourself down? Breaking your promises again and again? Constantly telling yourself “next time”?

One of the hardest lessons I’ve had to learn (and am still trying to get through my thick skull sometimes) is that perfectionism isn’t a badge of honor — it’s really just a form of self sabotage 🫣

By focusing on hitting around 80% with my habits, and taking messy action over planning to infinity, I’ve seen more progress and results than when I tried to be perfect all the time (because it’s really just not possible).

Every month I do a full review and planning session. It takes about 90 minutes and it’s the reason I don’t start the month scrambling.

Here’s the structure:

1️⃣ Part 1: Reflect + Review
✓ Previous month review: wins, what didn’t happen, what it taught me
✓ Energy audit: battery check across life areas, what fueled me vs drained me
✓ Brain dump: get everything out of my head, then sort into keep/delegate/delete

2️⃣ Part 2: Close & Organize
✓ Close the month: archive projects, update systems, back up files, move pending tasks
✓ Finances: update dashboard, review expenses, set next month’s goals
✓ Content: log metrics, identify top performers, track posting consistency

3️⃣ Part 3: Plan Forward
✓ Emotional tone: how do I want to feel this month
✓ Top 3 priorities: what moves the needle, why it matters, what done looks like
✓ Plan the month: content themes, calendar blocks, rest, book & hobby of the month
✓ Habits: a few habits tied to the identity I’m building
