MORE HEALTH was proud to be at the TampaWell Celebration of Impact!
TampaWell, activated by Tampa General Hospital in partnership with the City of Tampa, is a health and wellness initiative working to make Tampa the ultimate wellness destination in the United States. It focuses on preventative health and supports the city’s most at-risk residents through regular movement, healthy eating and access to healthy food, and positive mental wellness.
MORE HEALTH and TampaWell come together to teach kids about nutrition and healthy choices. Our students visit TampaWell on field trips to learn how those choices help them grow.

Our teachers recently completed hands-on training from the Florida Department of Transportation and Johns Hopkins All Children’s on how to properly fit helmets.
We were also reminded how important it is to wear a helmet on every mode of transportation — bicycles, scooters, rollerblades, and e-bikes. With Florida leading the nation in pedestrian and bicycle deaths, a properly fitted helmet is one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect our kids.
Now the teachers at More Health can confidently help families get the right fit so every child is safer out on the road.
Helmets save lives. Let’s make sure they fit right.

In Florida, drowning is the leading cause of unintentional death for children ages 1 to 4.
That’s a hard fact—but it’s also a reminder of how powerful prevention can be.
A huge thank you to the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County and the Tampa Metropolitan YMCA for providing swimming lesson vouchers. These lessons help families give their little ones the skills and confidence that can truly save lives.
Water safety starts early. We’re so grateful for partners who make it more accessible for our community’s kids. 💙

SHARE this critical school bus safety info!
Beware of the “Danger Zone” around a school bus.
Drivers — it can be hard or even impossible to see a child in this area. That’s why you should NEVER pass a stopped school bus with its stop sign extended and lights flashing.
The danger zone typically extends about 10 feet in front, behind, and on both sides of the bus (and can be larger depending on the bus stop location). Children can easily disappear from a driver’s view in these areas.
