9/11 Heroes Run - Tampa, FL The Travis Manion Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that directly supports veterans, their families, and families of fallen service members.

We do this by providing emergency assistance, scholarships, and other direct financial support when a family or veteran is in need; however, we’ve found the greatest impact and positive change occurs when the military community is challenged to continue to serve. Families who have lost a loved one want nothing more than to honor their memory in a way that exemplifies their sacrifice. Similarly, ve

terans are looking for a mission and purpose once they leave active service. TMF provides the avenues for this growth and healing through our Challenge Grant program. Since our inception TMF has awarded $295,000 in challenge grants and direct support. TMF is committed to both directly serving our military community and transferring their spirit of service and sacrifice into local communities. We do this through our Character Does Matter program and our 9/11 Heroes Run.

· Character Does Matter is designed to engage and empower our youth to serve in their local communities. Through this program we have reached more than 40,000 students.The service projects are inspired by a fallen hero and led by veterans and families of the fallen. The 9/11 Heroes Run is a series of 5 K races held annually on the anniversary of September 11th. Inspired by Travis’ visit to NYFD Rescue One before his final deployment, the 9/11 Heroes Run brings communities together to run, volunteer, donate, and cheer, but most of all: Honor. The 9/11 Heroes Run is an opportunity for people to come together, honor the fallen, and be a part of something greater. With the goal to never forget the sacrifices of all of the heroes of September 11th — veteran, first responder, and civilian. The 9/11 Heroes Run serves as our vehicle to build awareness and direct philanthropy to veteran and first responder charities serving the communities hosting a 9/11 Heroes Run. Up to Fifty percent of net proceeds for each race are granted to partnered charity organizations. We feel the more we work together, both locally and nationally, the greater the impact we will have addressing the myriad of issues affecting veterans.

We’re here Lithia, come pickup your packet early and say hi! Be here until 630 rain or shine. Will be back tomorrow morning early from 530 to 9.

There’s still time to register as well if you haven’t yet you can register up until the race time. For awareness timing is not guaranteed if you don’t pick up your packet before 8 AM on Saturday.

Packet pickup today and tomorrow for both race locations.

Come see us at Four Leaf Crossfit this morning until 11am or tomorrow from 2-6pm, might be a good day to drop in for your first workout here on 9/11. We will also have an option on Sept 12th from 3-5pm or race day if you cannot make it out.

Lithia pickup at Park Square today from 4-630pm, tomorrow 530-9am, and race day starting at 6am if needed.

Picking up early is greatly appreciated to make race day as smooth as possible for everyone.

Packet pickup times for this week posted below, note the time and location for each race. Packet pickup is available in race day, but we appreciate your effort made to pickup early!

More race day information is available on each race page along under additional details and will be resent via email to all participants and volunteers this week.

Both races have opening ceremonies starting at 8 AM with official race start at 8:46 AM.

A few reminders this morning! First there’s still time to register for the 9/11 heroes Run in Lithia amd Tampa. You can register donate or volunteer using the below links. You can register up until race day!

Second, we have an additional packet pick up in Lithia tomorrow, Saturday, September 5 from 1 to 4 PM in the parking lot for Park Square.

Lastly, a reminder will be doing a service project to fill the fire houses in Hillsborough and Pasco County Sheriff flyer attached to packet pick up race day and or on September 26 when we’ll meet up again to pack and distribute.
