“What is grief , if not love persevering”- my bracelet

The human experience is multidimensional. There cannot be grief if love wasn’t there first.

The extremes of life create a sense of tension, a being pulled apart, first you receive then let go. A sense of unsteadiness as an emotion like feeling big is felt and assured sure as water always reaching its level, the opposite comes to replace it with feeling so small.

Then I know I must step on to my mat to move,
expand, contract, twist, breathe and sweat…all the actions that allow me return to stillness, to Self.

Most of us are overstimulated and rest deprived. Create space to reduce the effects of stress and allow your body to experience the 4 stages of Yoga Nidra which mimic the 4 stages of sleep.

Even though we cannot replace the effects of a good night’s sleep, through practicing Yoga Nidra, we can help our body create an internal environment that improves the chances of having a good night’s sleep.

Stages of sleep and Yoga Nidra:
Non-REM 1 - relaxation for physical body, cellular repair and energy revitilization
Non-REM 2 - relaxation for nervous system and mind, time to process events of life
Non - REM 3 - Delta brain waves is experienced, supports healing and supports immune system
REM - dream state where thoughts and emotions are processed, with consistent practice, this state of peace is able to carried into everyday lifeAll Non-REM is the dreamless sleep which is just as vital to health as REM.

Looking through some select pics from our trip to the Philippines this past January. When I snapped these shots, I didn’t know this would be the last time I would see my Auntie Vi.

We truly don’t know what each day brings. This sad news came as a surprise and I wish I hugged my Auntie a little bit longer when we said goodbye.
