I’m sharing this story again to remind everyone how important it is to know what to do in an emergency situation.
Today I had the privilege to meet Josh and his father Robbie while out in the community. To hear their story first hand was amazing. If Josh was not trained in CPR there is a potential that our paths would have never crossed and I wouldn’t have gotten to meet Robbie today.
I asked them each two questions.
Questions asked to Josh:
-Would you have ever thought that you would need to use your CPR skills/training. He answered no.
-Are you thankful that you had this training. He answered yes.
Questions asked to Robbie:
-Did you ever think that you would have a medical emergency and require CPR? He answered no.
-Are you thankful for the skills that your son has learned? He answered absolutely.
Medical emergencies happen every day all around us, some are lucky enough to have people around them that are trained in CPR and First Aid and will jump into action. Every second counts when someone goes into cardiac arrest, and thanks to Josh’s quick thinking he was able to apply his skills and save his dad’s life.
I spoke with his family today about continued education in CPR and First Aid and am looking forward to working with them to get their entire family trained to save a life!
When Robbie Gomes suffered cardiac arrest while driving with his family, their SUV began to veer toward a guardrail. What happened next.
