🚀 What a special day at Meadow Peak!

Last Thursday we partnered with Utah Foster Care to host a “Back-to-School Blast Off” space-themed party for 40 foster kids from Salt Lake County. The children chose their own new school clothes and supplies — about $10,000 worth — so they could start the year feeling ready and valued.

Our Meadow Peak community, along with True North Home Health & Hospice, opened our doors for a joyful “Space Invasion” celebration. The smiles said it all.

This was the first big public project of The Mission Fund, Mission Health Services’ new way of giving back in the places we live and work. We’re so proud it happened right here at home.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the day warm and wonderful. Enriching lives and inspiring hope looks like this. ❤️

Every family’s needs are different. That’s why understanding the types of care available matters.

• Assisted Living helps with everyday tasks so residents can stay as independent as possible in a social, supportive community.

• Memory Care provides specialized, secure support designed specifically for those living with memory loss.

• Short-Term Rehabilitation focuses on recovery through therapy after a hospital stay, illness, or injury.

At Meadow Peak, our goal is simple: the right level of care, at the right time, with dignity and compassion.

We’re here if you’d like to talk through the options.

Utah peak season has spoken, and it said “here’s 47 more cucumbers than any human reasonably needs.” My counter looks like a green invasion. My fridge is full. I’m pretty sure one just winked at me.

So here’s the official “What the heck do I do with all these cucumbers” survival list:

1. Eat them like apples while standing over the sink like a raccoon
2. Make so much refrigerator pickle that your family starts hiding the jars
3. Cucumber water… then cucumber lemonade… then just straight cucumber juice at this point
4. Tzatziki until the Greek godxs themselves file a restraining order
5. Cold cucumber soup that you pretend is fancy but is really just blended garden overflow
6. Face masks, foot soaks, and whatever spa treatment lets you feel productive while the pile shrinks
7. Cucumber boats stuffed with literally anything so it feels like a meal
8. Gift bags for every neighbor, coworker, and person who makes eye contact
9. Relish. Gallons of it. Future you will either thank present you or cry
10. Accept that some of them are going to the chickens / compost / the great cucumber beyond

Happy Birthday to the United States Coast Guard! 🎂🇺🇸
Tomorrow, August 4, we celebrate 236 years of service, courage, and dedication from the men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard.
At Meadow Peak, we are proud to honor every veteran and service member in our community—and those who have served in the Coast Guard hold a special place in our hearts. Your commitment to protecting others is something we deeply respect.
To all who have worn the Coast Guard uniform, and to the families who have supported them: thank you. We are grateful for your service.
Semper Paratus. Always Ready.

3 Tips for Utah Seniors Navigating Summer Smoke + Heat

Wildfire smoke + summer heat is tough on older lungs and hearts. Here are three practical ways to stay safer:

Check the air before you step outside
Look at air.utah.gov or the Utah Air app (or AirNow) a couple of times a day. When the AQI hits “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups” or worse, keep outdoor time short and light. Older adults are more vulnerable, so treat orange and above as a signal to stay in.

Make one room a clean, cool zone
Close windows and doors. Run the AC on recirculate (not fresh air) and use a HEPA air purifier if you have one. Avoid swamp coolers—they pull smoke inside. If it gets too hot without AC, cool the space at night when air is cleaner, then seal it up during the day.

Hydrate, rest, and protect yourself
Drink water regularly (not just when you’re thirsty). Skip heavy activity outdoors. If you must go out, a well-fitted N95 helps filter smoke particles. Watch for warning signs like shortness of breath, chest discomfort, dizziness, or unusual fatigue—and call your doctor or 911 if they appear.

Stay cool, stay informed, and take it easy out there. Utah summers can be beautiful—just protect your air. 💨☀️

Quick Power Plays for Hydrated Health Even in the Heat
Here are a few things you can do to be ready for the our next BIG heat bump.

This approach not only helps keep you hydrated, it protects skin, and supports energy, comfort, and graceful aging in Utah’s challenging summers. Small daily habits yield big results—your skin (and body) will thank you!
