Palmdale Regional Medical Center joined others across Los Angeles County for the annual “Sidewalk CPR” outreach. Led by Tara, Charge RN in the Cath Lab, Palmdale Regional was one of many sites throughout Los Angeles County that provided this training during the first week of June.

Learning “hands-only” CPR supports local emergency responders by focusing on the first few critical minutes following cardiac arrest. With each chest compression, ordinary citizens can help maintain blood flow, giving patients a much better chance of survival before responders arrive.

A big thank-you to the team of experts for their willingness to teach this important life-saving skill!

What started as a simple hospital visit turned into a life-saving moment for 82-year-old Karen Mora.

While visiting her husband at Temecula Valley Hospital, Karen suddenly experienced weakness and numbness in her left arm—warning signs of a stroke. Thanks to the quick action of a TVH stroke-certified nurse and rapid, coordinated care from our medical team, Karen received immediate treatment that helped prevent a devastating outcome.

Today, Karen is recovering—and sharing her story as a powerful reminder that every second matters.

Every year, Palmdale Regional Medical Center honors and recognizes the ultimate gift of organ donation made by patients and their families, a gift that saves lives and restores health to others in need. To commemorate those who have given so much to so many, we raised the OneLegacy flag in their honor.

The ceremony included remarks from OneLegacy partners Joel Del Valle, program manager of hospital partnerships, and Blanca Cohen, vice president of donation strategies and partnerships. Speakers also included Nana Deeb, CEO of Palmdale Regional, and Raul Sansores, a OneLegacy ambassador and organ recipient, who shared his powerful story of struggle and hope. Community members were encouraged to consider registering as organ donors. Individuals of all ages can register at DonateLifeCalifornia.org or OneLegacy.org.

Held in a high desert community known for both gentle and powerful winds, the ceremony began in calm conditions. By the time the flag was raised, the wind had joined the gathering in tribute. Thank you to all who attended this meaningful event to honor the lives and legacies of others.
