"I’m so grateful to have come across Soma. When I first met Sarika, I was a little over 2 months post-op from a second spinal surgery for a disc injury. I came to Sarika in incredible pain, as my recovery from my surgery was not going as planned at all. During our consultation, Sarika met me with an immense amount of understanding and compassion, and shared in detail how acupuncture could help.

I’ve completed over 20 sessions now and have made so much progress. It took time for my body to adjust to the acupuncture, but as each session went on, my back started feeling better and better. My back pain often felt so debilitating and took up almost all of my mental energy. Now, I feel like I finally have the time and energy to focus on other parts of my life other than my back.

I appreciate how tailored the treatment plan is and how attentive Sarika is when checking in on how I’m feeling. ✅Today, The Lancet officially renamed PCOS to polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome, PMOS.

✅This is not a rebrand. It is a correction.
Most people with PCOS never had pathological ovarian cysts. The name directed clinical attention away from the metabolic, endocrine, and psychological systems that actually drive this condition.

‼️The consequences were real: delayed diagnoses, fragmented care, and missed cardiovascular and metabolic risk for 170 million people worldwide.

💯The new name encodes what PCOS always was. A multisystem hormonal condition involving insulin resistance, androgen excess, and reproductive, psychological, and cardiometabolic burden.

💥The obligation to investigate it fully has just become harder to ignore.
