Arizona State Representative Chris Lopez sponsored H.B. 2444, legislation addressing pharmacists' ability to independently provide certain testing and treatment services.

For our organization, engaging with policymakers on legislation that affects pharmacy practice and patient access is an important part of our advocacy work.

Pharmacy professionals spend their careers caring for others. This is a reminder that they deserve care and support, too. 💙

Pharmacy can be demanding work, and workplace stress, burnout and other challenges can affect mental health.

Pharmacy Workforce Su***de Awareness Day (September 20) is an opportunity to check in with yourself, check in with a colleague and help create a culture where asking for support is encouraged, not stigmatized.

A simple “How are you doing?” can open the door to an important conversation.

Advocating for patients and the future of compounding pharmacy on Capitol Hill.

Our team recently joined the Alliance for Pharmacy Compounding on Capitol Hill to help educate members of Congress about the challenges facing compounding organizations and the impact those challenges can have on the patients who rely on compounded medications.

We advocated for Congress to engage with the FDA and push for greater clarity around compounding policies and requirements, while sharing the real-world concerns pharmacy professionals are navigating.

These conversations matter because policy decisions can have a direct impact on access to medications, pharmacy operations and, ultimately, patient care.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to bring the perspective of the compounding pharmacy community directly to policymakers and advocate for policies that support both pharmacy professionals and the patients they serve.

Advocating for pharmacy on Capitol Hill.

Our team recently joined on Capitol Hill to advocate for policies that impact patient access, the pharmacy workforce and the sustainability of care for underserved communities.

During our meetings with members of Congress and their staff, we discussed:
💊 Expanding access to pharmacist-provided care through the Equitable Community Access to Pharmacist Services Act (S. 2426) and the Main Street Pharmacy Access Act (H.R. 3164).

🎓 Protecting pharmacy residency training by supporting the Rebuild America’s Health Care Schools Act (H.R. 1708 / S. 1087), which would require greater clarity around Medicare funding requirements for pharmacy and other health care residency programs.

🏥 Protecting 340B-supported care by discussing legislation addressing Medicare payment policies affecting 340B providers and the role these programs play in supporting care for underserved communities.

Advocacy is an important part of advancing the profession and ensuring that policymakers understand how federal policy decisions affect pharmacists, pharmacy teams and the patients they serve.

We appreciate the opportunity to bring the pharmacy perspective directly to Capitol Hill and continue these conversations with policymakers.
