Starting over is exhausting. Most of the time, it isn't necessary.

Miss a workout. Eat differently for a few days. See the scale jump. Hit a plateau. None of those things automatically mean the plan failed.

Sometimes the better move is much less dramatic: look at what happened, keep what is working, adjust what isn't, and continue.

You don't need a Monday, a new set of rules, or a comeback story every time life gets messy.

We have gotten a little ridiculous about this. 😅 A walk can no longer be a walk. It needs a pace, a heart-rate zone, a step count, and apparently a tiny performance review afterward.

Tracking can be useful. If you are training for something, trying to get stronger, or working toward a number you care about, use it.

But not every walk, hike, swim, bike ride, or afternoon outside needs to become training. If the numbers make it more fun, great. If they turn something you enjoy into another thing to grade, you are allowed to ignore them.

Send this to the friend whose watch is currently judging her walk. 😂

One missed workout. One hard week. One meal you weren’t planning.

And somehow it turns into, “Well, I blew it. I’ll start again Monday.”

If you already know what to do with food and fitness, the useful question may not be what you need to learn next. It may be what keeps turning an interruption into a complete restart.

I wrote about that here:

I Know What to Do. So Why Do I Keep Starting Over?

You know the one. The workout you keep saying you’re going to do, keep putting off, and keep promising yourself you’ll get serious about next week. 😅

When the same kind of workout keeps getting pushed aside, that pattern is worth noticing.

Sometimes what it’s telling you is simple: this particular way of exercising does not fit you very well.

Someone else might love lifting weights. Great. You might love walking, hiking, a class, swimming, working out with a friend, or something completely different.

You still need to exercise. You still need to challenge your body. But you do not have to keep choosing the version you dread just because you think that is the one you’re supposed to do.

The workout you’ll keep doing matters more than the one you keep planning to start.

Save this before you force yourself back into another routine you already know you won’t keep. 💪

Somewhere along the way, being “healthy” turned into a full-time job. Protein, steps, sleep, water, meal prep, supplements, perfect groceries, perfect workouts... and then a brand-new plan the minute one thing went sideways. 😵‍💫

No wonder it gets exhausting. Most of us are trying to fit all of that around work, family, errands, stress and a life that does not cooperate with a perfect routine.

And no, this isn't about lowering the bar. It’s about stopping the cycle of chasing "perfect" routines that fall apart the minute life gets messy.

Pick one thing that would make food, fitness or taking care of your body easier this week and work on that. 💗

Save this for the next time you feel like you need to overhaul everything again. 📌

✨Soak in the small moments.✨

Why does it feel so good to be in nature? 🌵 It’s because it’s a literal reset on your nervous system.

The best way to make it through tough times is to focus on the small moments.

🌻 The small moments of beauty
🌻 The small moments of joy
🌻 The small moments of love
🌻 The small moments of appreciation

It’s all good. ✌️

Inflammation might be the reason you're not losing weight. Here are 5 things you can do about it.

As I mentioned before, eating healthy and incorporating anti-inflammatory foods into your diet is the first major lifestyle change that you need to make. But this alone is not enough to fight your chronic inflammation!

Aside from eating healthier foods, other things you can do to reduce chronic inflammation include:

👉 Balance your hormones - hormonal imbalances can contribute to leaky gut syndrome or Crohn's disease.

👉 Get plenty of sleep and stay active during the day.

👉 Vitamin D is essential since vitamin D helps regulate the immune system. Try to have at least 15 minutes of sunlight exposure per day.

👉 Reduce your exposure to toxins and chemicals since these substances contain free radicals that contribute to inflammation.

💡 Switch to using non-toxic or organic household cleaners, cosmetics, water bottles, and pesticides, and avoid anything that contains phthalates, BPA, and other harmful chemicals.

👉 Let's not forget about stress! When your stress becomes chronic, your inflammatory responses will jump into action, and your body will enter into a fight-or-flight response with your nervous system.

Some stress relief techniques include meditation, yoga, journaling, talking with friends, or walking in nature.

Did this help you? 🙋🏻‍♀️ Drop a 💜 if so!

We all have an imaginary boundary that stops us from committing to living a healthier more active lifestyle. What's yours?

If you can name it - you can DEFEAT it - but the first step is to accept that you WANT healthier habits. Really think about it and DECIDE that you not only want change but that you DESERVE it!

Can carbs be ADDICTIVE? 🥐😨

I have never had a sweet tooth, but I was addicted to potato chips and salty, crunchy foods for a long time. I couldn't understand this addiction and why I was gaining weight even without consuming sugar.

Then I learned that all carbs are actually a type of sugar! 😱 Sugar activates NEUROTRANSMITTERS and the reward centers of the brain 🧠 in similar ways to other alcohol or drugs!!

Simple Sugars, including fructose, glucose, and lactose, which are found in nutritious whole fruits, promote insulin resistance and affect your DOPAMINE levels 👉🏼 the neurotransmitter in your brain that sends messages to make you FEEL PLEASURE, reward, or reward motivation. 👈🏼

The Carns Addiction Cycle:

All carbohydrates are broken down into SIMPLE SUGARS, which are absorbed into the bloodstream. As the sugar level rises 📈 the pancreas releases the hormone insulin, which is needed to move sugar from the blood into the cells, where the sugar can be used as energy.

The MOST ADDICTIVE types of carbs are highly processed and high in fat, sugar, and salt. Here are some of the most addictive carbs:

➡️ Pizza 🍕
➡️ Chocolate 🍫
➡️ Chips 🥺
➡️ French Fries 🍟
➡️ Cheeseburger 🍔
➡️ Soda 🥤
➡️ Cheese 🧀

Are you addicted to carbs? ❓
