I realized something about myself yesterday that I don’t think I had ever put into words before.

I have a wound around significance.

Not just wanting attention.
Not just wanting to be loved or liked.
It goes deeper than that.

I need to feel like I matter to people.

I want to know that my presence made a difference. That our connection meant something. That if I disappeared from someone’s life, there would actually be an empty space where I used to be.

And once I saw it, I started seeing all the places this wound has quietly shown up.

Why being forgotten hurts me so deeply.
Why a friendship changing can feel so much bigger than just “growing apart.”
Why I notice when I’m the one reaching out more.
Why I care so much about people showing up.
Why I can struggle to let go of connections even when they’ve changed.

Because underneath it isn’t always, “Do you love me?”

Sometimes it’s… “Did I matter to you?”

And damn. That one hit differently.

Because I think there have been times I’ve measured my significance by other people’s behavior.

If they checked on me.
If they remembered.
If they chose me.
If they showed up.
If they missed me.
If they fought to keep the connection.

Almost like I needed evidence that I had left some kind of imprint on their life.

And maybe the work for me now isn’t convincing myself that I shouldn’t want to matter to people. I think wanting to matter is incredibly human.

Maybe it’s learning that someone else’s ability to show me my significance isn’t what creates it.

I can deeply impact someone who never knows how to express it.

I can be meaningful to a chapter that still has to end.

I can matter to someone and still not be meant to stay in their life forever.

And most importantly, I don’t have to keep proving my value by making myself unforgettable.

I’m still unpacking this one.

But I have a feeling this realization just connected a whole lot of dots for me🤍

I had a wave of grief on Wednesday. I asked for an obvious sign from my loved ones in spirit. Yesterday I sat in amazement and complete gratitude as I came across a single purple candle in my backyard. My favorite color. Right after having my “birthday party” this past weekend.

Never stop talking to your loved ones after they cross over. They hear you, I promise🤍

I received the best compliment imaginable yesterday:

“You really have the best supporters.”

I’ll tell you what, I couldn’t agree more!

Looking around yesterday, I was overwhelmed with gratitude. My entire immediate family showed up. I had family drive over an hour just to celebrate with me. Friends and clients stopped by just to give me a hug. So many familiar faces came to shop, connect, laugh, and simply be there. Even new faces that saw the party from the road found and loved our community!

When you own a small business, it’s easy to get caught up in numbers, sales, and wondering if all the hard work is worth it. But yesterday reminded me that what we’ve built at The Connection Cove is so much bigger than that.

We TRULY have built a community🥹

Thank you to every single vendor who braved the weather and adapted. Thank you to everyone who came despite the delayed start. Thank you to those who shared the event, told a friend, made a purchase, booked a reading, or simply showed up with a smile and a loving aura.

Thank you for believing in this little dream that started as an idea and has now celebrated 2 years.

There were a couple moments yesterday where I just stood back and took it all in. After everything these past 2 weeks have held emotionally, being surrounded by so much love reminded me how incredibly fortunate I am.
