From a Ruga settlement to national impact — never allow where you begin to determine where you can go.
We are deeply honoured and grateful that Khuraira Cosmetics has received the Skills-to-Jobs Impact 2026 Award, under the HEREDUCATION Category, presented at the She’s Included Conference 2026 at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Our sincere appreciation goes to She’s Included, the Office of the Technical Adviser to the President on Economic and Financial Inclusion, the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, and everyone who made this recognition possible.
This award is particularly meaningful to me because my journey began very humbly.
I grew up in a Ruga settlement, and at one point in my life, I sold Fura da Nono. Back then, I could never have imagined that the journey would one day lead to building a recognized brand, empowering others through skills, and contributing to initiatives creating national impact.
But I dreamed. I worked. I kept learning. I remained consistent. And most importantly, I refused to allow where I started to determine where I could go.
So this recognition is dedicated to every young girl in every nook and cranny of Nigeria and across Africa who may look at her circumstances today and wonder whether she can truly become something greater.
Please do not despair.
Dream big. Work hard. Keep learning. Stay consistent. Believe in the possibilities ahead of you.
It does not matter where you began. What matters is where you are determined to go.
May my story remind even one young girl that her present circumstances do not have to be her final destination.
Thank you once again for this incredible honour. We receive it with humility, gratitude and an even greater responsibility to keep creating impact and opening doors for others.
The journey continues.
