We at Kamiyama Physical Therapy believe in the importance of personalization with your health and body. Our clinical experience treating thousands of patients has taught us one thing: there is NO one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to lifestyle and health. We've found that even two people who came in to our office with the same exact same health condition needed two vastly different solutions and interventions. We are here to treat you as an individual and not as a diagnosis. Let us be your coach and achieve results that you've never achieved before. Refer to our About page for further details.

This is a real moment from a coaching session with one of my clients.

Her pain would spike just from thinking about a walk, even sitting still in a chair. That's not her body failing her. It's her brain predicting a threat before it happens, based on old information it hasn't updated yet.

So we started smaller. Hand on the heart. Imagine the walk. When the symptoms rise, pause, breathe, and repeat: "At this moment, the threat has passed." Then come back. Reimagine. Come back again.

It's a mini-exposure, teaching the nervous system, one small rep at a time, that it doesn't have to brace for what hasn't happened yet.

If this sounds familiar, you're not alone in it, and everyone's pattern looks different. Click the link in bio to book a discovery call and get a plan built around yours.

When pain sticks around, it's rarely just structural. It can happened by combination of fear of re-injury, tension held in places already worn down, the mental toll of feeling stuck. That's why my approach goes beyond exercises alone.

The stories above are real people I've worked with, people who went from being mostly bed-ridden to dancing again, from wearing a knee brace for years to moving without one, from feeling skeptical to feeling truly understood. Healing wasn't just a physical goal for them. It was a mental one too.

If you've been putting a band-aid on pain that keeps coming back, there might be a different way forward.

Years of pain teach your nervous system lessons: that movement means danger, that rest is the only thing that helps, that you have to live within your limits.

These are patterns your system learned to keep you out of harm's way, patterns that stick around long after the threat is gone. That's exactly what happened with Jessica.

Together, we worked on unbinding her from what pain had taught her nervous system to expect: relearning what she actually knew about pain, gathering evidence about her own experience, and getting honest about the beliefs she'd been carrying. Not ignoring the pain, but updating what her nervous system thinks it still needs to protect her from.

Unbinding comes before aligning. Comment "UNBIND" to work with me like Jessica did.

Chronic pain sometimes means your nervous system is still on alert, stuck in a loop long after the original injury should have healed. You've tried treatment after treatment, but the pain is still there.

That's exactly why the Unbind and Align Program exists.

This isn't another protocol to add to the pile. It's a 12-week path that combines physical therapy with a mind-body approach. This work is to help you understand why pain persists, identify what's quietly amplifying it, and retrain your nervous system so healing has room to happen.

I provide real support along the way, including weekday chat access, monthly 1:1 coaching, breathwork, and a plan built around your body, not a generic template.

Only 5 spots for this October–December cohort.

Curious if it's the right fit? Comment "UNBIND" and we'll set up a FREE Discovery Call.

Thank you to everyone who showed up to the masterclass on Tuesday 🤍

If you were there, you know the main point: you’ve probably heard “just live your life” a hundred times, and it probably made you feel unheard. That’s because, without understanding your nervous system, pushing through the walk, the dinner, the trip often ends in a flare, and you conclude your body can’t handle it.

But once you know why the pain keeps showing up, living your life stops being something you earn after the pain is gone. It becomes one of the ways you calm the pain cycle.

If something in the class felt like it was describing you, that’s worth paying attention to. Unbind and Align starts this October, and there are only 5 spots open. It’s a 3-month program to help you continue living your life.

If you've been in pain long enough, you know the pattern. You put things on hold. The hobbies, the plans, the parts of your life that actually make it worth living, all of it waits until the pain is "handled."

But here's what I've learned after 15+ years doing this work: that pause doesn't stay temporary. It becomes the way you live. And the longer you wait, the more your nervous system learns that even the things you love are dangerous.

That's not a willpower problem. It's a nervous system that's still on alert, treating joy the same way it treats threat.

This is exactly what I'm walking through in my FREE Masterclass this September 29th at 7pm EST, why pain makes you hold your life, why even the things you love start hurting more, and how living your life is actually the thing that breaks the cycle.

Months, years, however long you've been in pain, at some point you put your life on hold because of it.

You stopped making plans. You quietly let go of things you used to love. Not because you gave up, but your nervous system decided the safest move was to stay on alert, just in case.

Here's what's easy to miss: the pain that persists isn't always about tissue or injury anymore. Often there's something underneath still running the show, your relationship with your body, old memories, beliefs you built up after years of being let down by it.

I'll cover more on this topic in my FREE Masterclass on September 29th. We'll talk about why living your life is actually part of how the pain cycle breaks (not the reward for breaking it), how to read your nervous system's signals so you can pace your return to daily life, and we'll do a live RESET Breathwork together.

Already know the why and looking for the how? That's Unbind and Align. We start by unbinding the belief loop your nervous system built around pain, the one that keeps telling your body to brace and protect. Then we align, building a new pathway where a symptom can just be a symptom, not a threat.

Comment "UNBIND" if that's your next step.

If you've been stuck in pain for months or years, you know what it's like to put your life on hold.

Maybe you've quietly given up on things you used to love. Maybe you've stopped making plans because you don't know how your body will feel that day. That's your nervous system doing exactly what it thinks it's supposed to do, stay on alert.

When chronic pain persists, there's often something happening underneath that's unconsciously keeping it going. Sometimes it's shaped by your relationship with yourself, your memories, or the beliefs you've built around your body after years of struggling.

If you're just starting to understand this, start with the free Masterclass on September 29th. You'll learn why living your life is actually part of breaking the pain cycle, how to decode your nervous system's signals so you can safely pace your return to daily activities, and you'll go through a live RESET Breathwork together.

Comment "LIFE" and I'll send you the link.

If you already understand the why and you're ready to go deeper, that's what Unbind and Align was built for. First we unbind, working with the belief loop your nervous system has built around pain. Then we align, teaching your nervous system a new pathway, where symptoms get to just be symptoms, not threats.

Comment "UNBIND" if you're ready.

You don't need to have it all figured out first. You just need to choose your first step.

Your favorite hobby is the thing that makes you feel most like yourself.

Then chronic pain shows up. Your brain learns the equation fast: doing it equals pain, pain equals danger, danger means stop. So you stop. And slowly, you stop trusting your body altogether.

But getting back to what you love was never about pushing through the pain. It's about rebuilding trust with your body.

That starts with noticing what pain has taught you to believe: that you can't do this anymore. That you'll hurt yourself. That your body can't handle this.

And creating a new experience instead: you can listen to your body. You can move. You can trust yourself again.

Because the goal isn't less pain. It's feeling steady enough to live your life again.

This is exactly what we're unpacking in the FREE Masterclass: How to Stop the Chronic Pain Loop by Living Your Life
Comment "LIFE" and I'll send you the details.

"It became a mental challenge, a confidence issue. I was apprehensive to get back out there. But resilience was really the theme of it all."

What started as a knee injury turned into something bigger. In the process of sorting out the physical piece, this client was also relearning how to trust their body again, and building a kind of confidence that went far beyond the leg.

That's the part of recovery no one talks about enough. It's not just about healing tissue. It's about rebuilding the belief that your body can be trusted.

We don't let that be an accident. We get intentional about it, treating resilience and confidence as part of the plan, not a lucky byproduct.

If you're in the thick of an injury or a pain flare right now, here's your reminder: this isn't just about getting your body back. It's about getting your confidence back too.
