September is Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month. The five main types of gynecologic cancer are cervical, ovarian, uterine, vaginal and vulvar cancer.

Symptoms can vary, but changes such as unusual vaginal bleeding or discharge, persistent bloating, pelvic pain or pressure, feeling full quickly, or changes in bathroom habits should not be ignored.

You know your body best. If you notice something unusual or persistent, speak with your healthcare provider. Early conversations matter. đź’—

These symptoms can have many causes and do not necessarily mean cancer.

Meet Haley Jones, one of our talented sonographers! Haley graduated from ASU in 2020 with an Associate of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and has been part of the Shaw Center team for four years.

Outside of work, Haley enjoys reading, spending time with her family, going to the beach, and riding motorcycles with her husband. She is also the proud mom of her four-year-old son, JB.

We are incredibly grateful for Haley’s dedication and the compassionate care she provides to our patients each day! 💗

Strong bones are the foundation of long-term health. 🤍

A DEXA scan (bone density test) is a quick, non-invasive way to measure bone strength and assess your risk for conditions like osteoporosis—often before symptoms ever appear.

This simple scan can help:

✔️ Detect early bone loss

✔️ Assess fracture risk

✔️ Guide prevention and treatment plans

✔️ Support healthy aging at every stage

Most women don’t think about bone health until there’s a problem—but early screening makes all the difference.

If you’re 50+ or have risk factors, it may be time to talk with your provider about a DEXA scan.

📍 Shaw Center for Women’s Health is here to help you stay proactive about your health at every stage of life.

📞 Call today to schedule your scan or speak with a provider about what screenings are right for you.

Sharing Liz W’s beautiful experience at Archbold 💙

“Dr. Bragg delivered my little one and she was just the kindest, sweetest doctor. The nurses were fabulous and so attentive—I didn’t feel like a patient, I felt like part of a family.”

We are so grateful to hear how supported and cared for Liz felt throughout her pregnancy and delivery. From the Shaw Center for Women’s Health to our Labor & Delivery and Mother Baby teams, it means everything to know our patients feel heard, valued, and at home in our care.

We’re also proud to hear such kind words about our newly updated L&D unit—clean, spacious, and designed with comfort in mind for growing families.

Thank you, Liz, for trusting us with your care and for sharing your story. Your words remind our teams just how meaningful their work is every single day ❤️

In honor of World Breastfeeding Week, we’re celebrating the incredible mothers who give so much of themselves to nourish their babies. 🤍

Breastfeeding is more than feeding. It’s late nights and early mornings, hours spent nursing or pumping, learning together, pushing through hard days, and offering comfort in a way only a mother can.

It can be beautiful, exhausting, emotional, empowering—and sometimes all of those things at once. Every breastfeeding journey looks different, and every ounce, every feeding, and every day represents a sacrifice of time, energy, and love.

This week, we honor the moms in the middle of their breastfeeding journey, those who have completed it, and those whose journey looked different than they expected. However you fed and cared for your baby, you deserve to be supported and celebrated.

From all of us at the Shaw Center for Women’s Health, we see you, we celebrate you, and we are honored to care for you through every season of motherhood. 💗
