Have you ever finally sat down at the end of the day…

…and realized you still don’t actually feel relaxed?

Your body stopped moving.

But your mind didn’t.

You’re thinking about tomorrow.
Replaying the conversation from earlier.
Remembering the thing you forgot.
Wondering whether everyone has what they need.

Maybe you’re scrolling. Maybe the TV is on. Maybe you’ve been sitting there for twenty minutes.

Technically, you’re resting.

But you don’t feel rested.

Because stillness and rest aren’t always the same thing.

Sometimes we’ve been moving, responding, deciding, solving, anticipating and caring for so long that simply stopping the movement doesn’t immediately quiet everything happening inside us.

That doesn’t mean you’re bad at relaxing.

Sometimes there needs to be a transition between doing and resting.

Try making that transition intentional tonight.

Put your phone down for five minutes.
Unclench your jaw.
Let your shoulders drop.
Take a breath without trying to change it.
Notice the surface underneath you.

And instead of asking yourself what you need to accomplish next, ask:

What would feel supportive right now?

Maybe it’s quiet.
Maybe it’s a shower.
Maybe it’s going outside.
Maybe it’s going to bed.
Maybe it’s doing absolutely nothing.

Rest doesn’t always begin when we sit down.

Sometimes it begins when we finally give ourselves permission to stop.

🤍

This is part of why I create spaces where nothing is required of you.

Maybe you don’t need another thing to do.

Maybe you need somewhere to put everything down.

For 90 minutes, nothing is required of you.

No fixing.
No performing.
No expectation that you arrive calm or somehow manage to clear your mind.

Just a quiet place to land.

A quick weekend update 🤍

After checking in with The Harbor Community Centerand considering the ongoing flooding and road closures throughout our community, we’ve made the decision to cancel Sunday’s Restore Circle.

There will be another opportunity to gather soon.

For now, our priority is simply that everyone stays safe and takes good care of themselves and one another. I’ll share a new date when the time is right.

This is for you if…

You’ve been carrying everyone else.

You don’t necessarily need advice.
You don’t need another thing to work on.
You don’t need another way to “be better.”

You’re just tired.

Maybe you can’t remember the last time you fully exhaled.

Maybe what you need isn’t fixing at all.

Maybe you just need an hour where nothing is required of you.

That’s what Restore Circle is for.

An hour to come out of the noise.
To reconnect with your body.
To soften.
To be supported instead of being the one doing the supporting.

No performing.
No fixing.
No expectations.

Just space to be.

You don’t have to be falling apart to need a place to land.

Sometimes your nervous system has simply been carrying more than you realized.

That’s part of why I created Restore Circle.

This is a space to slow down, notice what your system may be communicating, reconnect with yourself, and experience restoration in community.

We’ll use guided reflection, nervous system education, meaningful conversation, optional aromatherapy, and restorative practices to help create a little more room inside.

No fixing.
No performing.
No pressure to share.

Just an invitation to pause long enough to hear yourself again.

Reflect • Connect • Restore

The first Restore Circle is this Sunday at Harbor Community Center. 🤍

Your nervous system doesn’t always need an hour.
Sometimes it needs one minute.

Try this with me.

Let your shoulders drop.
Unclench your jaw.

Feel the surface underneath you supporting your body.

Then slowly look around the room and notice three things that tell you:

I am here. I am safe enough in this moment.

Take one slow breath in.
And an even slower breath out.

That’s it.

You don’t have to completely change how you feel.

Sometimes the practice is simply giving your nervous system one small signal that it doesn’t have to work quite so hard right now. 🤍

This week’s Yoga on the Village Green is brought to you by our friends at Main Route Nutrition! 🧘🏻‍♀️🌿

One of my favorite parts of offering yoga right here in our community has been getting to connect with other local businesses who believe in creating spaces for people to feel good, connect, and take a little time for themselves.

Main Route Nutrition is sponsoring this Saturday’s class, which means your yoga is FREE. 🤍

And naturally, I had to stop in and grab a drink while I was there. 😍

Come join us Saturday morning on the Village Green:

Yoga on the Village Green
Buckeye Lake Village Green
9:00–10:00 AM
Beginner-friendly

💛 FREE thanks to Main Route Nutrition

Bring a mat, bring some water, and come exactly as you are.

And if you see the folks from Main Route Nutrition around town, give them a little extra love for supporting wellness right here in our community. 🤍

People pleasing isn’t always about wanting everyone to like you.

Sometimes, it’s about safety.

For some of us, keeping other people happy became a way of keeping ourselves comfortable.

So we learned to scan.

Are they upset with me?
Did I disappoint them?
Do they think I’m difficult?
Should I explain myself?
How can I make this better?

And eventually, the response can become so automatic that we say “yes” before we’ve even had time to figure out what we want.

That’s why “just set better boundaries” can feel like wildly unhelpful advice. 😅

Because sometimes setting the boundary isn’t actually the hardest part.

It’s what happens afterward.

The guilt.
The anxiety.
The urge to over-explain.
The temptation to take it back.

The discomfort of knowing someone might be disappointed in you and choosing not to immediately fix it.

That’s where nervous system regulation can become part of boundary work. Not because there’s something wrong with you.

But because you’re practicing something different:

Letting another person have their feelings without making those feelings your responsibility.
Being generous without automatically saying yes.
Pausing long enough to ask yourself what you actually want.

Being kind without abandoning yourself.

This week, we’re talking about people pleasing and what can begin to change when we understand the pattern instead of judging ourselves for having it. 🩶

Regulate. Restore. Reclaim.

Never been to Yoga on the Village Green? Here’s what to expect. 🌿

First: you do not need to be flexible.

You don’t need expensive yoga clothes.
You don’t need to know the poses.
And you definitely don’t need to be “good at yoga.”

You just show up with a mat, some water, and yourself.

We spend about an hour outside on the Village Green moving through a gentle Hatha yoga practice. I’ll guide you through the entire thing, and you’re always welcome to modify a pose, take a break, or skip something altogether.

There might be birds.

There might be people walking by.

There will definitely be traffic sounds.

There might be a lawn mower somewhere in the distance because… well, we’re practicing yoga outside in a small town. 😂

And at the end?

We get still.

You’ll settle into Savasana while I bring in a little sound with the singing bowls and give you a few quiet minutes where absolutely nothing is required of you.

No performing.
No keeping up.
No judgment.

Just movement, breath, fresh air, and an hour you chose for yourself.

If you’ve been thinking about joining us but felt nervous because you didn’t know what to expect this is your invitation.
