SARAH HOROWITZ
PERFUMER AND FOUNDER OF SARAH HOROWITZ PARFUMS
“Finding the perfect fragrance can bring you into the moment and remind you of who you are and what you love,” says Sarah Horowitz, founder of Sarah Horowitz Parfums, a Westlake Village, CA-based fragrance house credited with the creation of Sarah’s own lines as well as a number of blockbuster private label and custom fragrances that h
ave attracted a cult following among fashion industry insiders and celebrities across the US. Sarah first started perfumery in the late 1980's in Boston, where she invented The Fragrance Journey™, an intimate collaboration with a client to design their perfect customized scent. She moved to Los Angeles in 1994, founding Sarah Horowitz Parfums around this one-of-a-kind techique. During this pivotal time in her career, Sarah brought her toolbox full of fragrance and essential oils to clients in and around Los Angeles while simultaneously working at Apothia at Fred Segal. It was at this iconic retail establishment that she cultivated her knowledge of the niche market and its possibilities, which would prove instrumental in years to come. She soon created three distinct ready-to-wear lines, starting with Perfect Perfumes, which debuted at Malibu's Planet Blue in 1997, followed by the single-note line Perfumers Palette, developed for Nordstrom in 2000, and most recently What Comes from Within, a Barneys New York exclusive in 2006, each fragrance line reinforcing Sarah's place in fashion and beauty circles. Sarah currently lives in Westlake Village with her husband, artist Greg Thran and their daughters Jessica and Gianna.
