Dream Community Center An inclusive recreation center for neurodiverse teens/adults in Southern California. Edlyn Peña, Ph.D. Her pride and joy is her teenage son, Diego.

Chief Executive Officer

For nearly 15 years, Dr. Peña has been highly involved in advocacy, research, and program coordination for the autism community. Dr. Peña is a Professor of Educational Leadership at California Lutheran University. She has sat on government and non-profit advisory boards that support disabled communities across the U.S. Her scholarship has resulted in over two dozen publica

tions. As an autistic self-advocate, Diego’s need for communication support and inclusion inspired Dr. Peña to co-found the Autism and Communication Center at CLU, an incredible community resource that offers conferences, summer camps, college transition programs, professional development training opportunities, and social activities.

The Autism and Communication Center and Dream Community Center are thrilled to co-host a Rapid Prompting Method (RPM) Workshop on:

Led by Katie Anawalt, MS, CCC-SLP, ATS, an RPM-L4 practitioner, this workshop offers individualized sessions for students, with the opportunity for practitioners and/or communication partners to participate for valuable feedback and coaching.

🕘 Sessions available from 9:00 AM – 4:40 PM
⏱️ 55-minute individual sessions
💲 $125 per session

Whether you’re new to us and curious about our programs, planning to attend our summer camp and want to get a feel for the space, or simply want to stop by and say hi, we’d love to welcome you to our Open House!

We are excited to offer more music jam sessions at Dream Community Center! 🎶

Small group music classes with our new instructor, Dylan, will now be offered on Wednesdays at 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM. We are also taking waitlist sign-ups for a future 5:00 PM class.

These sessions are a fun and engaging opportunity for Dreamers to explore music, build confidence, express creativity, and connect with peers in a supportive environment. All abilities are welcome.
