Autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease (ARPKD) is one of more than 6,000 identified rare diseases. Affecting approximately 1 in 20,000 children, ARPKD is a genetic condition that causes cysts to grow on the kidneys. About one-third of children with ARPKD may need a transplant or dialysis within their first 10 years of life.

Today, on Rare Disease Day, we’re helping give a voice to the 5% of the world’s population affected by a rare disease like ARPKD.

Woohoo!!! Today’s my 6 month Anniversary, blessed with the gift of life, from God and my donor❤️. I am so humbled by my friends and family for the prayers and love sent my way! Keep those prayers coming, still have recovery to go❤️🙏🏻 but made it to a smooth huge hump in 6 months! My friends that are still waiting, keep the faith. I will forever pray for those on the transplant list❣️. Hugs and love to all of you🙏🏻❤️🥰

So I debated posting this picture, since I hid my belly for years and no one knew how unwell I really was. So to bring awareness to the disease. This is what a Polycystic Liver looks like at 10 pounds, which they removed. It was like carrying a baby. I also have Polycystic Kidney’s but they were drained and left in and will eventually just be there with no function and the new kidney will take over completely. There are so many people that suffer with this horrible disease that affects so much more than just those organs. I’m so very grateful and blessed, that the Lord and a Donor has given me a new lease on this beautiful life!!💚💚
