I knew that woman.

I knew what it looked like to smile while quietly disappearing inside your own life.

To love your children and still want to escape yourself.

To keep showing up while something inside you was coming undone.

I just didn’t know what was happening to me yet.

No one asked how I was doing mentally. Not once.

I recorded this in 2025 while I was processing the trauma of my daughter’s birth.

At the time, I thought I was processing a traumatic birth.

I had no idea I was beginning to understand what happened after I survived.

How deeply it was still living in my body.

How far the ripple had gone.

My mental health.
My marriage.
My friendships.
My children.
The way I mothered.
The way I connected.
The way I lived.

It changed the course of our family.

There are parts of this story I’ve never shared publicly.

It’s time.

Because we need to talk about what can happen to a woman after everyone else thinks she survived.

Three circles.

One unforgettable weekend.

This past weekend, I had the honor of facilitating breathwork for bereaved parents from across the country.

I witnessed courage, vulnerability, deep love, and the kind of connection that reminded me we were never meant to carry life’s hardest moments alone.

I came to facilitate breathwork.

I left remembering what community can do.

If you’d like to read more about what stayed with me from this experience, I’ve shared the full reflection on my Substack. The link is in the comments. 💜

If you or someone you love is navigating the loss of a child, the Bereaved Parents of the USA community is an incredible resource. No one should have to walk that path alone.

And if you’re looking for a supportive space to reconnect with yourself through breathwork and community, I’d love to connect. I offer both in person and virtual circles, so wherever you are, you’re welcome. 🤍

This weekend, I have the incredible honor of facilitating a breathwork experience at the National Gathering for Bereaved Parents of the USA.

Truthfully, there aren’t many words that feel big enough for a space like this. Just gratitude.

Every parent who walks through those doors carries a love that never ends and a story that deserves to be honored.

I don’t have the words to make grief smaller.

I wish I did.

What I can offer is a space where, even for a few moments, they can breathe, be held, and take the next breath.

Sometimes that’s enough.

I’m deeply grateful to be part of this weekend. 🌬️💜✨

I’ve realized healing isn’t about avoiding hard moments. Sometimes the same old stories, familiar dynamics, or emotions still show up.

The difference?

I notice them sooner.

I take a breath.

I check in with myself before I react.

That one pause has changed so much for me.

Not because life got easier…

But because I’m learning I don’t have to keep responding from the same story.

🤍 I’m curious…

Have you ever noticed how one intentional breath can change the way you respond?

My mentor’s weekly Astro Update hit exactly when I needed it.

The theme this week is fire.

Not just the heat we’ve been feeling here in Ohio…

The fire within us.

Our frustration.
Our anger.
Our passion.
Our courage.

I’ll be honest… I’ve felt mine this past week.

It reminded me that maybe the goal isn’t to put our fire out.

Maybe it’s to learn how to tend it.

Healing has taught me that our emotions aren’t the enemy.

They’re information.

An invitation to slow down… to breathe… and to become aware before we react.

So today, I’m sitting with one question…

What is your inner fire trying to show you? 🔥🤍

If this spoke to you, save it for the next time your fire starts to rise… or share it with someone who may need the reminder.

July is Bereaved Parents Month. 💜

As I read this today, I found myself thinking about the parents, siblings, grandparents, and families who carry a love for someone they can no longer hold.

One of the greatest gifts we can offer someone who has lost a child is simply letting them know they don’t have to carry it alone. Sometimes that looks like saying their child’s name, Sometimes checking in or simply sitting beside them without trying to fix anything.

I’m incredibly honored to be facilitating a breathwork experience at this year’s Bereaved Parents of the USA National Gathering in Pittsburgh.

If you or someone you love has experienced the loss of a child, I encourage you to learn more about this beautiful organization and the community they’ve created. Sometimes the greatest comfort comes from being with people who don’t need you to explain your grief.

Today begins Bereaved Parents Month.

For most people, July is just another page on the calendar.

For us, it is a month that quietly says, “We see you.”

There are millions of parents who have buried a child.

You pass us in the grocery store.
You sit beside us at work.
You wave to us at the ball field.
You laugh with us at restaurants.

Many days, you would never know.

Because bereaved parents become experts at carrying the unbearable while looking like we’re carrying nothing at all.

This month isn’t about asking for sympathy.

It’s about recognizing a love that didn’t end when a heartbeat did.

It’s about remembering that every accomplishment, every holiday, every family photo, every birthday, every ordinary Tuesday still has someone missing from it.

It is about speaking our children’s names without lowering our voices.

It is about acknowledging that we are still parents.

Always.

Bereaved Parents Month is a reminder that our children are not forgotten. It is a time to recognize the parents who continue to love, miss, and carry their children every single day. It is an opportunity for others to pause, remember, and better understand a journey that never truly ends.

If you are a bereaved parent, we hope you’ll see yourself here.

If you love someone whose child has died, stay with us this month. Listen. Learn. Remember with us.

Because our children mattered.

They still matter.

And so do the parents who carry them in their hearts every single day.

💜 If you would like to honor your child today, tell us their name in the comments. We would be privileged to remember them with you.
