Dr. McKitty is a staunch advocate for early skin cancer prevention and detection and volunteers at community skin cancer events including programs sponsored by the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LGPA). She’s also consulted for the United States Secret Service on skin cancer detection and prevention. Dr. McKitty is as a board-certified diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology and continues to serve as an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Medical Association, the Women’s Dermatologic Society, and the American Society of Dermatologic Society. The University of Pennsylvania conferred Dr. McKitty her undergraduate degree with honors. She received her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, where she was awarded the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence. Dr. McKitty completed her medical internship at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital; and dermatology residencies at Howard University Hospital and the Veterans Administrative Medical Center in Washington D.C.
