National Drug Take Back Day is this Saturday, April 22, 10am-2pm.

Too often, unused prescription drugs find their way into the wrong hands. That's dangerous and often tragic. That's why it was great to see thousands of folks from across the country clean out their medicine cabinets and turn in - safely and anonymously - a record amount of prescription drugs.

As dental professionals, we’ve always held ourselves to the highest standards in infection control protocols.

During this time, we’ve made some adjustments to continue to keep our patients and staff safe. Things may look and run a little different when you see us, but safety is our top priority.

As we continue to follow professional and governmental guidelines on a daily basis regarding the current COVID-19 pandemic, we at Grand Traverse Oral Surgery and all of our satellite offices need to make the necessary adjustments in how we practice to do our part to flatten the curve.

Based on the recommendations of the CDC, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Dental Association, we are postponing any non-emergent procedures at this time.

The overall health of the public, our patients and our team is always our number one priority. We will remain open to see patients with dental emergencies or those who are experiencing dental pain/symptoms as our effort to prevent unnecessary visits to our local emergency room while preserving personal protective equipment and minimizing potential exposures.

We continue to follow all standard infection control practices in addition to asking that those accompanying our patients to their appointment wait in their vehicle to reduce potential exposures in our waiting room. We are also screening temperatures at the door before anyone enters the building.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call us at (231) 946-3512. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through making necessary changes and adjustments during this time. Our staff is working tirelessly to reschedule existing appointments.

Please stay healthy, safe and continue to observe social distancing.

As we continue to monitor the current COVID-19 pandemic, we will make any necessary changes to keep the overall health and safety of patients, staff and families our top priority.

We continue to take all standard precautions in our offices regarding sterilization and sanitation. This includes following the guidelines of the CDC and American Dental Association.

In addition, we are..
-Asking that patients who have recently been ill with flu-like symptoms or in contact with a potential exposure please reschedule their appointments for at least 2 weeks out.
-Removing all reading materials and objects of contact from our waiting rooms and treatment rooms.
-Asking that those accompanying patients to their appointments wait in their vehicle to limit the number of persons in our waiting room.
-Making hand sanitizer available to those entering our office and more frequently sanitizing non-clinical common areas throughout the office and waiting room.

For the safety of our patients and staff, we please ask that if you are ill with flu-like symptoms, please contact our office at 231-946-3512 so we can reschedule your appointment. Please notify us if you are ill and have an emergency, so we can appropriately treat you while reducing any exposure. We have also instructed our staff to stay home if they are feeling ill.

To reduce the risk of contracting COVID-19, the CDC recommends the following measures:
-Washing hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
-Avoid touching your face, eyes or nose to reduce the spread of germs.
-Cover your cough or sneeze with a bent elbow.
-Stay home if you feel sick or have flu-like symptoms

We will continue to closely monitor any developments and make the appropriate changes as necessary. Wishing everyone good health and safety during this time.

Sincerely,
Grand Traverse Oral Surgery
