It’s April in Michigan and that means we are on the cusp of having a wider variety of fresh spring produce from our local farms and favorite foraging spots. Until that ‘ramps’ up…no pun intended…we can still tap into last season’s cellared goodies, like:

🧅 onions
🥕 carrots
🍠 sweet potatoes
🎃 squash
🥔 potatoes
🍎 apples

🌱🥬 and fresh greens like arugula, spinach, kale, and microgreens.

Power up! ☀️ If dairy doesn’t usually agree with you, it might not be that you are ‘lactose intolerant’, rather it might be that you are reactive to the A1 protein found in most mass produced dairy products. A tasty little experiment to sleuth that out is to try dairy that only has the A2 protein and not the A1 protein, like this yogurt from 🩷 This Bulgarian-style yogurt is SO DELICIOUS and tastes great with seeds, honey, and organic berries. 🥰 Cheers to your health & wellness, friends. ✨ xx - Jill

Last week’s epic blizzard in Northern Michigan didn’t derail this weekend’s Spring Wellness Retreat. Instead, five phenomenal people made their way up to Cedar on Friday and were greeted by a gorgeous Aurora borealis display at Bohemian Beach, a lovely way to celebrate the beginning of spring and kick off a weekend of activities to nurture the body, mind, and soul. ✨ Many thanks to and Matthew Merritt for helping make this retreat a memorable experience as well as a sampler of many health & wellness modalities: Biofield Tuning, sauna & cold plunge, yoga & sound bath, nature outings, and plant-based meals. 💛 Cheers to health & wellness rooted in the nutrition & nature, and activities that nurture our wellbeing. ✨ xx - Jill
