🦴✨ October is Spinal Healthcare Month in Michigan! ✨🦴
Governor Gretchen Whitmer has officially proclaimed October 2026 as Spinal Healthcare Month here in Michigan — a great reminder to take a little extra time to care for the spine and nervous system that support us every single day.
As a Doctor of Chiropractic, I’m passionate about helping people understand that spinal health isn’t just about addressing pain — it’s also about how we move, work, exercise, rest, and care for our bodies every day.
💡 A few simple ways to support your spinal health:
• 🏋🏼♀️ Lift with your hips and knees rather than bending through your back, and avoid twisting while lifting.
• 🚶🏼♀️ Keep moving! Regular exercise can help support a healthy, strong back.
• 💻 Take movement breaks if you spend long periods sitting.
• 👟 Choose supportive footwear when appropriate.
• 🧘🏼♀️ Work on your posture throughout the day.
• 💪🏼 Warm up before exercise and physical activity.
• ❤️ Maintain healthy habits that support your overall health and your spine.
Even everyday activities — like picking something up off the floor — can place stress on the structures of the back when we aren’t using good movement mechanics.
My goal as Doctor of Chiropractic is to help you feel more confident in understanding your body and taking an active role in your health — not just when something hurts, but before it does. 🤍
This month, let’s celebrate the incredible structure that literally supports us every day!
🦴 Happy Spinal Healthcare Month, Michigan!
