There are strategies you can implement in order to address chronic pain and here's the proof that you are not a life long victim of your diagnosis.

These research articles indicate all statistics shared as pain free individuals through random selection to receive imaging only to find what we might think to be a traumatic diagnosis to receive.... The pain we experience is real, as are the strategies to address pain.
The tricky part: each person is uniquely different in what is needed to address chronic pain and functional limitations. AI and Dr. Google can't solve that problem just yet.

I would at one point in time think this following statement would sound crazy….

Yesterday I burned my hand while cooking, for a brief moment it hurt and cold water felt good. But the pain didn’t linger too long. Like a mental hack of reducing pain allowing me to do what I want and need to do…

Here’s what happened: the 400 degree cast iron I grabbed not thinking burned. I reflexively retracted my hand. When running cold water I was reminded of the physiology of how pain works:

My demyelinated tissues became sensitive to hot temperature as a perceived threat keeping me from burning myself again.

Cold water helps because it’s a countering stimulus to the perceived thread and dampens immune response of inflammatory response.

The ion receptors that lay in place of the demyelinated space can be over sensitive or neutral with a healthy blend of ion receptors. This is contingent on environment and emotional/ psychological and historical ideology of the perceived threat (burned hand while cooking).

Because those receptors half-life is 2 days and are replaced in able to affirm these few things to demonic my brain’s perception of the threat (being burned).

My discomfort is short because I know it’s not a reoccurring event and I’m not in a threatening environment.

Because I know tissue heals and the sensation of pain at worst shouldn’t last more than two-three days because the half life of temperature receptors that could be laid are just that.

The cool thing is, not even 24 hours later and there is no notable pain just some redness and tightness of the burned tissue.

Ive spend 6 weeks studying pain science research in a 6 month intensive program. The results and information is amazing and have not only served my clients and patients very well but also myself.

It’s getting nice out. I see some runners outside, it’s a great thing!

In the NFL, players that have lumbar surgery had a 61% return-to-play rate, and those who returned actually saw an average performance rating increase.

Players with a history of prior lumbar surgery were even more likely to return to play (83%). The right mindset and care matters.

Introduction: American football players face a higher risk of spine injuries due to the sport's high-impact nature, especially in the lumbar and cervical spine regions. These injuries may require surgical interventions aimed at allowing athletes to ...

🚨PAIN DISCUSSION🚨

Our brains are efficient. Think about how we learn to read.

At first, we decode every letter. But as we get better, we stop 'reading' every word and we scan and filter.

We use what we already know to predict what’s coming next. This is a brilliant survival strategy, but it can lead to a bit of 'cognitive bias.'

Our brain does the exact same thing with our bodies.

When we feel a sensation, the brain immediately scans its historical library:

'Have I felt this before?'

'Is this what my neighbor had before their surgery?'

'Am I safe right now?'

Sometimes, the brain gets too good at scanning for threats. It begins to infer danger where there is only normal sensation. It’s like a hyper-sensitive smoke alarm going off because you’re just toasting bread.

The alarm is loud and real, but there’s no fire.

The 'tissue issue' isn't always the main cause. Sometimes, it’s the volume setting of the alarm.

The good news?

Just as we trained our brains to read and filter information, we can retrain how it processes these signals. We can learn to turn down the 'protection' volume and turn up your physical capability.

What might be holding you back from physical tolerance to movement?

Living with pain is exhausting... what if there was something you can do about it.

Here are 6 yellow flags we should talk about when living chronic pain.

Failed treatment whether that is physical therapy, massage therapy, chiropractic care, reki, injections, or any other naturopathic care. Somethings clearly missing, what is it? it's a concept called PNE+ and I plan to spend the next 6 months and thousands of dollars to better help and serve those who are willing to trust me with their health.

Family concerns: whether it be abuse, neglect, stress associated to lack of acknowledgement or feeling overwhelmed... this is a deep topic that is often overlooked. I'm not claiming to be a psychologist, but a professional provider of education and physical care.

Fear and anxiety: Have you ever avoided movement, activities, or desired experiences due to limitations of pain. Are you turning down opportunities that make life more worth living and enjoying out of fear of pain or "re-injuring" yourself? This one is all too common with us living with chronic pain. In fact this was a pivotal experience myself going from bodybuilding and power lifting to a goal of maintaining health optimally.

Ongoing pain: When we live in pain it can affect multiple things. Irritability, lack of sleep, lack of social interaction, lack of movement and activity. Unfortunately those things only led to increase pain, stress, irritability, etc.

Job issues: When we cannot perform the work we do or the work we love it can effect our identity, our way of making a livable wage which in turn spirals into other complications and issues already expressed in this message. We also are less inclined to show up as our best to work. Being passed over for opportunity, pay raises, promotions, etc.

Different explanations: One person says one thing while another person says something contradicting. It's exausting and confusing. The sad reality is multiple providers do not interact across scopes of work. So your MD, Physical therapist, Massage therapist, or Chiropractor are not very likely to cross communicate care and looking at things from their perspective opposed to possibly your perspective.

If you're looking for the nuance in how you can take back your life and live the life you're eager to get back to... be sure to follow, share and favorite my content so it's not missed!
