Nurses must have a voice in shaping how AI is used in healthcare.

NJSNA is seeking member candidates for the 2027 election!

Members will elect candidates for several leadership positions, including President Elect, Treasurer, Director of Communications, the Nominations Committee, and the Congress on Policy and Practice (COPP).

Both the nominator and nominee must be NJSNA members in good standing.

Nominations are due by the end of business at the Virtual Annual Meeting on October 8, 2026.

AI is already shaping nursing practice in New Jersey, from sepsis alerts to smart documentation, often without clinicians even clocking it as AI.

Used well, it can catch problems earlier and free up time for patient care. Used carelessly, it can reinforce bias or dull clinical judgment.

AI should support nursing judgment, never replace it. Nurses belong at the table shaping how these tools are built and used.
