New Jersey Council on Developmental Disabilities Through its membership and its activities and projects, the Council provides a forum and resources for making its vision a reality.

Funded by the federal government with additional funds from the state of New Jersey, The New Jersey Council on Developmental Disabilities is a lead change agent in the State responsible for a vision of what the lives of people with developmental disabilities should be -- That people with developmental disabilities and their families have every opportunity to participate in the design and implementation of programs, services, and supports that promote self-determination and community inclusion.

The fifth and final video in our new assistive technology series—Myth: Technology is Expensive and Complicated—is now available. This video was created by the West Assistive Technology Advocacy Center of DRNJ (ATAC).

When people hear the words “assistive technology,” they may first think that means expensive and complicated—this is not always the case. Finding the right device is the most important part of making technology work. Another recommendation from the 2025 NJCDD Assistive Technology Summit was to share information about funding help for technology that is not covered by the Division of Developmental Disabilities or Medicaid. Last weekend, NJCDD exhibited at the Abilities Expo, which was held at the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center in Edison. The Abilities Expo delivers game-changing technologies, products, services, and education to help the dynamic disability community break barriers and push past limits. On Saturday, a very special guest stopped by our booth, U.S. Senator Andy Kim.
